He's World champion though now ;)

I wouldn't be surprised if they did get it on, Nard might see it as a way of unifying all the belts.... Now that would be some achievement at any age!! although he hasn't mentioned doing anything like that he did say the best is yet to come.... I hope Clev gets his shot maybe in 3 fights time. I would pay to see Nard get beat by another white boy.... :bbb

This is an absolute TERRIBLE matchup for Clev. Its just unfortunate for him he is in a division with one of the greatest technicians in the game.
He would be pot shotted and countered into an absolute mess.
Frank Warren wont let him anywhere near B-Hop at this point or in the forseeable future if hes got any sense.

Hopkins would need to age and Cleverly would need to technically and physically improve, in fact he'd need to improve on all levels.

Look at how befuddled and clueless Nathan looked against Mohameddi in Liverpool and then tell me again that he'd beat Hopkins ..... :nono

On a positive note as far as your prediction goes, .. Cleverly does have scope for improvement and Hopkins must surely decline by the time Clev "fights two top opponents"(and presumably beats them?)

To put it mildly, there are a lot of "ifs" in your prediction IMO.

    And Wlad-Ibragimov.

As for Cleverly, well its hard to see him having much of a chance with Hopkins at this stage, since he really hasn't fought the competition necessary to make a case for him emerging victorious in such a bout.

Its all very well and good looking like a million dollars against a lower class of opposition, but quite a different thing when you have to get in and fight push-up king Bernard Hopkins.

Last night told us very little regarding Cleverly's class at the top level (rubbish stoppage by the ref btw), and lets admit it he looked pretty balls against Mohammedi in the bout before that. Good showing against Murat before, but the consistency isn't really there with Clev yet and he has shown signs of losing the rag a few times, which would not serve him well in a fight with a brain-****** like Hop.

Everyone was saying the same thing about Calzaghe when he made the move Stateside, Who's he fought? he's fought no-one... he's only fought European nobodies....

I just see it in him, he's got the athletic ability and with a decent gameplan he could really make waves..... ONLY TIME WILL TELL!!! :good

Why are so many talking like Cleverly has no brains??? cleverlys fights with Murat and the pole were about getting attention and fans and also to prove a point. Cleverly does need more work on his defence, but when he wants too he can box has a decent jab and a good straight right, aswell has a great inside game backed by workrate and pressure.

I wouldnt put him in with Hopkins yet now way! but Dawson and Cloud yes, If Nathan mixes things with these two, boxes abit and keeps the workrate and agles going i think he`d win. Dawson is too lazy, hes got some good skills but seems to lack heart, Cleverly wouldnt give Dawson time to breath Dawson seems to step back and admire his work, no chance of that against Cleverly.

Calzaghe had fought the second best SMW in the world in Kessler.

Cleverly is lucky he wasn't in with Brahmer on Saturday night, because if Brahmer had caught Cleverly with that left what the Polish guy caught him with, Cleverly would of been flat out on the canvas.

There's room for Cleverly to improve, but tbh' putting him in with Bernard at the moment, or even in 2 fight's time is stupid

Saying If Braehmer caught him as the pole did and that clev would have been flat out is pure speculation, Braehmers got a good punch but sometimes its not always about the punch its also about the chin, i call it the punch/Chin ratio. A punch can put one guy down whilst the same punch wont, its not so black and white

    Point taken.

But if Cleverly is leaving himself open to shot's like that from fighter's like the Polish guy (sorry i can't spell his name), what is someone like Hopkins gonna' do who'll read Cleverly like a book

Cleverly is a very good fighter with a good future ahead of him, but **** sake don't get carried away just yet - Hopkins would school him.
