After his impressive performance on hostile territory to go along with his earlier victory against Karpency, I vote yes.

I can't think of any other current titleholder who is fighting so many hopeless cans. Bellew is by far the toughest opponent Cleverly has defended his title against, and that alone should make Cleverly hang his head in shame, especially with so many good fights to be made at 175. And Hopkins allegedly next in line? Meh! The sooner somebody takes Cleverly's title off him, the better for all of boxing.

Sadly Cleverly has held a belt for.........is it 2 years already.......? and is still to meet a genuine world class fighter in the ring.
It is a joke and I feel sorry for him because he showed some great potential.
Being a fellow Welshman, I had high hopes indeed for Nathan; but he's fast becoming the most irrelevant 'world' champ in boxing.

Canelo's title reign is no better. And over all Cleverly has the better resume. Murat>>>>>everything on Canelo's resume.

Also Shumenov pulled out of a unification fight on like a weeks notice. Cleverly will step up and expect him to be on a main hbo or showtime card soon.

do you think its a coincidence that cleverley is with war+en and still isnt getting any decent fights?
its a good thing cleverley is fighting in the states, because it shows intent, but war+en is counterproductive for a fighters career and always has been

That just means Nathan had less time to study him and was still able to deliver the KO. The American fighter R. Jones by the way never defended his light heavyweight titles against an opponent as impressive as Hawk in his opponent's home country. In this respect Cleverly has already surpassed him (not to mention Nathan has never failed a drug test).

Cleverly just did what he had to do.

And no, not even close as fighter of the year.

And how the hell did Hawk got a title shot coming off a loss in the first place? :huh
