Cleverly gets Maths degree!

How do you figure that out. A 2-2 from a respected Uni like Cardiff, is worth a helluva lot more than a 2-2 from say, Bangor. Still, anything less than a 2-1 suggests a less then brilliant mind / level of effort. Outside of Oxbridge anyway.

 

A Maths degree is a great achievement, including the A Levels that have gone in beforehand is a great amount of study...:yep

He doesn't mean it like that pal. GPATER was asking about grade differences between Scotland/England as in we get A,B,C etc and they get 1,2,3 etc. (High School)

He was just pointing out that a 2-2 in England is still a 2-2 in Scotland :good

It all depends on the subject.

For someone to have the patience to study maths and graduate whilst fitting in a boxing career is a pretty fair achievement.

A 2-2 in maths KO 1 a first in most subjects.

A brutal KO as well just to emphasise :yep

 

You have:

1st - the highest class you can get.

2.1 - solid qualification; highly regarded

2.2 - decent but if youre at uni you shouldnt really be getting this kind of grade

3rd - should drop out before you get one

 

I'd say 1st is A, 2.1 is B, 2.2 is C, third is D. After that it is a fail. However in the academic world a 2.2 isn't really respected. Anything less than a 2.1 is frowned upon.

 

Good to see the ESB dickheads out in force. Apparently there are many intellectuals here too..

3rd class honours is the lowest level of pass, below that still your university may still allow you to graduate. 2:2's are reasonably common and no doubt for Maths BSc he had to put a lot of work in.

How pretentious is that, it might be more respected but it doesnt mean its any more difficult. Correct me if im wrong but your still studying the same stuff.
