Now i'm not really a fan of cleverly's. I love the fact he's a mathematician but I don't like him as a boxer really. However he is showing a new dimension every fight and I don't believe he's at his peak yet.

He has a fight vs the weakest, imo, beltholder and with the names floating around he has a chance to compete for all the belts in my eyes.

If he doesn't take the calzaghe route and sit on his belt he can be remembered as a great lightheavyweight. I mean he easily has ten years left imo.

I'd much prefer bellew or danny mac to clean up but I see them both about two years behind cleverly atm.

What do you mean by saying :with the names floating" ? I've watched Cleverly against that "elusive" Frenchman in his last fight. He better up his level 2 gears because going by that performance, he has no chance against any of the top LHW. Absolutely no chance.

Haven't seen Braehmer fight so can't have a say on that. But what I can say is, from what I've seen of this UK fighter, TBH, I can't see him beating anybody big.

I like Cleverly a lot. He has an excellent chin and he's happy to trade with guys. Right now, I think the only fighter who clearly beats him is Hopkins. If he drag Dawson into a fight, he can beat him and he may be too active for Pascal and simply better than Cloud. He's a good fighter and, given the right guidance, should be a world level for fighter for years to come. I'd like to see him with a trainer who will refine his skills some more but that could be a gradual thing, as he is inexperienced.

I'd say Shumenov is probably a weaker champion than Brahmer. I also don't think Bellow is very good. I'd still say Cleverly a long way behind Hopkins, Pascal and Dawson and I don't really rate Pascal or Dawson either.

Cleverly better comes in with his A-game against Brahmer.

pascal, dawson, shumenov and braemer. all have shown flaws that can be exploited.

i dunno about longway. if he can beat shumenov and braemer plus get a good solid defence in, he'll be easily ranked in the top 3 or 4.

he'll never be on hopkins level tho imo, guy is once in a lifetime.

cleverly is the goods, he has floors and needs to work on them, instead of getting involved in wars but trust me, he will beat Braehmer, and he will go on to beat the crap out of over-rated shite like dawson.

If he manages to make quick work of 175, he's definitely got the frame to go all the way to heavyweight and do some damage.

he's not beating any of the top 4 guys, I'd like to see him fight Shumenov if he gets past Brahmer

Good that they have flaws. Not good that some of them are levels above Cleverly. The only thing that Cleverly has is physical stature and even that can be argued, he's not the quickest, not the slickest, his jab can be avoided, balance not good. I'd take Froch against him, he's just not that good. And with Ward potentially moving up, after the SMW finishes, that spells bad bad for Nathan, as his inside game is unpolished.
