Two weeks in a row. Macklin and now Price. Honestly I do feel for the diehard U.K. boxing fans, they really get behind their fighters and bring life and energy into an arena. On the upside you do have six weeks of healing before Cleverly gets it even worse.

Nothing personal: Don't kill the messanger...:hi:

Price was known to be chinny from way back in the amateurs. Same with Khan. Macklin is not chinny, just couldn't deal. Cleverly doesn't seem too chinny. That's not to say he won't get stopped, he might

Clevery is going to take big shots for several rounds from Kovalev. In the long run he will take far more punishment than Macklin or Price.

 we're cool about the losses. at least Macklin got in the ring against GGG. if Quillin had any courage, he'd get taken apart as well. so that's no biggie.

Price just doesn't have it. we have better fighters in the Heavyweight division.

i know you're doing it because your guys are either getting put to sleep or ducking a fight like a *****... so if it makes you feel better that 2 of our guys lost, then fill your boots.

Cleverly reminds me of a LHW Daniel Geale. Sure there are obvious stylistic differences but they are both good professional fighters with strong stamina and punch volume. I just feel that Golovkin and Kovalev are special and will not fall apart when presented with energetic volume punchers who exxentially stay in front of their opponents at mid range, launching ambush flurries.

It seems that Cleverly's supporters are banking on Kovalev not being able to fight for 12 rounds. That is an unknown quantity at this point. However working with experienced American trainers for the past few years should ensure that Kovalev will be conditioned to fight for the distance.

Kovalev will be prepared to go 12 rounds if he needs to, but the fight won't last that long. Cleverly can't punch hard, Kovalev can, both throw a lot of punches, but Kovalev hurts his opponents when he lands. I was extremely impressed when Kovalev knocked out Campillo, who beat hte crap out of Cloud.

Cleverly, the real most avoided guy in boxing taking on his greatest threat in the division?

Most of you haters said he never took on anybody.
Now he's taking on one on your over-hyped minions you're getting edgy feet?

I've full confidence Clev is wining this fight by 12 UD

Cleverly is probably the smartest guy in boxing holding a degree in mathmatics,he's athletic, fast handed and has proven to have a sturn chin.No homo but he also has the good looks to be a star.Americans are jeolous, they dont have guys with that kind of marketing potential just vile men like Broner and Mayweather.Tough fight for both, but with the fight in Wales that may be a significant advantage to the Clev.

Not any more, apparently. I can't see any other result but an early to mid round destruction by Kovalev. I'm a Brit and now Clev's finally stepped up it'd be nice to see him do well but I think Kovalev's on a different level, certainly in his ability to deal punishment.

Kovalev's quick, mobile and delivers combos with speed, accuracy and devastating power. The only questions are his chin and stamina. I've seen him walk right through some decent shots, and Clevs not gonna be the one to test his chin. Clev's most effective strategy will be to get on his bike early, and hope than Kovalev somehow gasses in the later rounds. Maybe Clevs hoping he'll be able to dance in and out, and slowly nibble at Kovs confidence and stamina, but I think this wouldn't be wise.

In fact, for all that I'm very happy Clevs taken a step up, I have to consider this to be a considerable step too far for him.

Maybe I'm too high on Kovalev, but the destruction he brings to the ring is something really unusual. I can't see Clev lasting past the middle rounds whatever he does.
