Since some people are saying that Kovalev should have been DQ'd, should there be an immediate rematch?

Frank just said "at this stage I'm not even thinking about a rematch". That's obviously for the best.

He'd need another year or two fine tuning before a rematch.

I missed this. Why do people think Kovalev should have been DQ'ed?

i almost fell over laughing when the guys from Boxnation mentioned a possible rematch after the fight, looks like there are some who actually took their words seriously

There's been something made of the idea that Kovalev hit Clev on the ground during to 2nd KD. It's BS, but wasn't helped by one of the Brit commentators yelling out "CLEVERLYS DOWN AND HE'S BEEN HIT ON THE GROUND" or something. In fact playing it back, Clev just goes very low to avoid Kovalevs punches, get's caught by one, than as he's dropping the top of his head is grazed by another.

Thing is, O'Conner was looking right at it at the time - ask yourself, do you think the guy who carried Clev to his stool at the end of 3 would not have called it if there was the remotest chance it was a foul?

Protect yourself at all times. Kovalev was hitting Cleverly as he was going to ground to avoid punches. For a guy with such a good chin to be physically shocked by punches is testament to Kovalev's power.
No disgrace in losing, Kovalev would probably do the same to everyone from 168-175.

Yes, I rewatched the fight after making my comment, as I didn't really remember seeing anything suspect in my first viewing and didn't see anything suspect in my second viewing. People are saying he got kneed but it brushed him at best and I don't think their was a late hit. Really no reason to see this fight again. Anytime soon, anyway.
