Cleverly-Kovalev rematch.

A rematch makes the most sense after such a disputed contest.

 

Cleverly and ****** would pay good money not to have a rematch. A world title fight abroad, he's only fought once abroad.
An immediate rematch will certainly be curtains for his career, he didnt even take full blows from Kovalev.

 

That fight was one sided. In a rematch Kovalev would finish Cleverly sooner. Kovalev would knock Cleverly out again and Cleverly could get seriously hurt.

 

It's funny how some British fans complain and would actually want to see a rematch *BECAUSE THEY HAVE SO MUCH FAITH IN CLEVERLY*.... When, in reality, to wish Cleverly to continue in that fight, or to take a rematch, you people would have to really hate him. That ref obviously didn't want to stop this fight and gave Cleverly every possible change he could, but if he would have let that fight continue it could have been Cleverly's last fight, or his last good fight.
If a rematch takes place any time soon.. I don't think Nathan recovers from the next beating (if he recovers well from this one) and may as well call his career quits.

 

It should of been a DQ win for Cleverly. And also he got hit by some illegal shots behind the head that originally rocked him.

People claim Kovalev is a such a great fighter why dont he move up to Heavyweight and fight Tyson Fury and see what happens then

 

Nobody who genuinely likes Cleverly wants to see that rematch.

 

Cleverly's referee had to carry him to his corner! Unreal.............

 

Terry should of gave Nathan 5 minutes to recover from getting hit behind the head. At least he carried Cleverly to his corner at the bell to help a little bit

 

Kovalev would knock Cleverly out in a rematch, only thing is, Cleverly would get seriously hurt. Cleverly is not in Kovalev's class.

 

Ok ill give you that. But it still should of been a DQ win for Cleverly for hitting a downed opponent.

Carl Froch would beat Kovalev. I think he could take his punches then wear Sergey down and stop him late.

 

unless Cleverly needs final payday before retirement he will stay clear of Kovalev

 

I'm British I wanted Cleverly to win but could see early on he was clearly outgunned and his tactics or lack of them was dreadful, he thought he could take Kovalevs power, by the time he realised he couldn't it was all over. A rematch with that guy anytime soon would be career suicide, he needs to rebuild, maybe go on the road. He's still young and a top guy in his weight class. That beating maybe the best thing to happen to him. He'll be less arrogant and utilise his skills a lot more in future. I've got no doubt he'll come back a better fighter.

 

Its a bit like saying Calzaghe should have given Lacy a rematch
