How do you know Frenkel is tough? He's never been tested.

Most people are assuming that Clev's got little power, has moved up from 168lbs and is fighting a well schooled harder hitting undefeated German opponent in Birmingham.

Except I'm not talking about Cleverly.

I'm talking about Frenkel. His record is very Alexeev-like at the moment. I know I made a mistake assuming he was the real deal when it came down to it he had an egg chin and questionable stamina and heart. I've seen nothing in Frenkel's fights that suggests he's proven to be tough, he's had it easy.

Sorry.... probably because Macca has lost badly to two very similar fighters to Frenkel. As mentioned elsewhere, the German team is very confident of winning.

Yep, I think people picking Frenkel are basing it on Enzo being cooked then Frenkel being anything to write home about.

Btw TFFP thats why there's a quote function...;)

    For me, it's more like:

    Macklin 95 / Jomardishvili 5
    DeGale 90 / Dilks 10
Brook 90 / Jennings 10 (I really think Brook is going to make him look silly; I'm not a Brook fan, but just too wide of a talent gulf to cross)
Cleverly 75 / Murat 25 (I really think it's a horrible style matchup for Murat; the only reason there's doubt for me is because Clev hasn't really been tested yet)
    Konecny 70 / Hall 30
    Chisora 60 / Sexton 40
    Enzo 50 / Frenkel 50

Who would those two fighters be? I can maybe see a Lebedev comparison in terms of style, though I think Lebedev is much better than Frenkel to be honest. And he's nothing like Afolabi, Swaby or Haye.

I think what 'UndisputedUK' means to say is Enzo at this juncture is stuffed and seasoned and all Frenkel or any decent opponent has to do is just put him in the oven. I can sympathise with that view although i don't share it in this case.

I was just curious where this assumption from the thread starter that Frenkel is tough came from. Frankly I'd be pretty worried if he'd had a tough fight against that lot.

just had a good look at both frenkel and murat, im not impressed one bit by frenkel and really is nothing special, the question is how much does enzo have left? this could end up being fight of the night if enzo has something left as frenkel looks durable but its 50-50 at the moment.

murat is a poor mans arthur abraham, cleverly has a big height and reach advantage and we know he has a good motor, not sure on the chin but as long as he doesnt get too involved he should win this on points.

i reckon hall will be losing on points but to catch his man late with a spectacular ko

Murat is a tough dude. He has sparred for years with Huck and Helenius in Germany. Frenkel will stop Maccarinelli.

Well, lets wait and see. Not long now. Enzo has failed against a lot of fighters who have showed a little spirit and have a bit of pop.

Guess this is pretty much what happened last night. :think
Enzo can punch, but as soon as someone can stand up to him or if he cannot put them away, then he is a KO waiting to happen, especially when the opponent comes to win and can hit. In this case the KO was particularly devastating. He must be done now. For his ability, he should be happy with winning the WBU\WBO title, defending it a few times and coming back to win the European title.

    ;)

TKO though so didn't pay out on my KO bet.

That dude Hall fought was a canny fighter too. Best KO on the night was some dude in the crowd though, he got sparko then arrested :)
