The problem is that he is set to fight for a world title in months, not years. This not so much of a problem if he fights for the WBO title and defends it a few times or something, but he is rated highly by the IBF aswell as the WBC. If he goes down those routes then he'll either face Tavoris Cloud, Chad Dawson or Jean Pascal.... all of whom, will take advantage of his incosistant defence brutally.

He's set to fight for a world title when Frank Warren says he'll fight for a world title. He'll only fight Chad Dawson, Cloud or Pascal (completely overrated) when Frank Warren says. He's not stupid, he will have noted the same things you did. Frank is cautious by nature, I think we can expect to see a few defences of the Euro title to hone his skills further and get the exams out of the way, and the WBO is likely going to be the route they take regardless.

Besides, say he did take one of them on and lost...so what? He's 22 years old, he's bound to mature physically and mentally if not technically and he'll learn from it.

    What about after that?

Warren said that he's fighting for a title before the end of the year....

Shumenov is bound to be the route they take. He gasses after 5 rounds.
