I was looking at his record and the british, commenwealth, european and now world title he has never once fought the belt holder every one has been vacant. Is this just good management or is he getting protected

As Above says this fiasco isn't his fault.

Personally i do feel he's been managed to this position very well. You look at who he's fought and tbh he's not beaten one world class fighter yet.

The last display was pretty poor and i think Frank would be wise to give him 3-4 good learning defenses i don't mean Ricky Burns type defenses but experienced seasoned vets and contenders who will bring him something to contend with then move him onto unification bouts etc.

Wasn't Tony Oakey the british or commonwealth champ?

its not like he faced bums for those titles.

Oakey at the time was a 50-50 fight and most on here picked Oakey. McIntosh was the best possible opponent in Britain and has proved himself since there fight. Brancallion was probably short of European level but Murat was not and as others said he was prepared to fight Braehmer.
