A year ago, I'd be confident in Hops schooling the **** out of him. The Pascal versions, anyway. But now -- after seeing him against Dawson -- I don't think his body will be adequate enough to see him get a win. He's running on a really, really old engine. Sometimes no amount of skill/experience can compensate for that.
Let's be honest....Cleverly is far from being Calzaghe in term of fight pace. He has too many defensive flaws that B-Hop can exploit. If Bernard too the fight....it is because he knows it. Cleverly will become the next English Kelly Pavlik. And...don't take the Dawson's fight as a point of comparaison...we knew Dawson's style was all wrong for B-Hop and that he has no choice but to fight him.
:rofl:rofl:rofl The frenchman had 3 days of preparation and Cleverly didn't even looked impressive. There's always a reason why Nards takes a fight and he will make Cleverly look bad.
At least it looks like Cleverly would punch according to law and with the stregth of his punching muscles altogether and not slapping his way thru to another dubious volume of punches trown and landed to have a case.
Hopkins from the Calzaghe fight would take Clev to school Hopkins of today gets outworked, unfortunately all Bernard can do now is spoil and frustrate, but he won't dominate and win over 12 rounds
Cleverly's in for a big shock if he fights Hopkins next. I wouldn't even rule out a Hopkins stoppage, despite him not stopping anyone for years and never at the weight.
