Link: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...ank-Warren-Its-time-to-put-up-or-shut-up.html Can't believe this news has slipped under the radar; instead of slagging of Haye, maybe Warren could've lead with a positive story. He also mentions that it appears 'increasingly likely' that Kell Brook will fight for the vacant WBO ww title later this year. So maybe Arum has indicated that Pacquiao is ditching the title later this year?
Maybe Brook will be fighting for the WBO Interim title while Manny has a couple of weeks holiday in Florida?
Might not be a bad thing...:yep It might get him and Tony Bellew together quicker then he can ice Cleverley and clean up...:deal
Erdei is meant to be his number 1 contender for the EBU title. there is nothing left for him at domestic level, unless he wants to win the Lonsdale belt outright.
is the interim WBO title vacant at the minute? Braehmer has a fight next week for the full title. I notice that Hopkins is ranked 1 with the WBO at 175, Cleverly is ranked 3.
The sanctioning bodies aren't too fussy as long as you pay their sanctioning fees. For examply Angky Angota was ranked 11 and Jorge Arce 6 when they faced off for the vacant WBO title and David Diaz was ranked 7 when he was allowed to fight for the vacant crown. I'm going to guess that we won't see Hopkins, Murat, Uzkelov, Henry or Campillo out of the WBO ranks so anyone out of the rest in the ranks.
Well, the Full alphabet titles mean **** all, interims even less so. Lets hope Brook/Cleverly get decent opponents, that means so much more than pointless straps.
Pleased for Cleverly though, even if the titles do mean sweet FA these days. Gets him on the road to a big name fight if he wins.
If things go to plan for Warren he'll have three WBO champs on his hands by the end of the year (interim status undoubtedly being upgraded). Why do Warren fighters mostly seem to accept the WBO route as a given? Surely one or two of them long to fight for one of the other big four titles? I remember AAA stating that he was would like to become a two weight WBO champ, but he wouldn't mind fighting for the WBC or WBA belts if he couldn't fight for the WBO immediately, as if the other belts were a consolation prize.
He'll have to fight Erdei or Murat. The Sauerlands and particularly Universum's influence over the WBO dwarves Frank's own sway with the same organisation. I wouldn't be surprised if he had to travel to Germany.
