Cleverly v froch @ SMW

Froch should be stepping up, not the other way around.

 

I came back with that tone because you basically discredited everything Carl Froch has done and said he was overrated.

How can you say that ? he has beaten the best in the division apart from ward and is 4 time world champion. What has cleverly done ?

Got handed a paper belt which he didn't even win in the ring, beat a string of poor opposition.

I wouldn't of been so insulting if you had given Froch some credit for beating world class opposition fight after fight but you basically assassinated his resume and clearly are a cretin.

For the record I think it would be a good fight but I don't see why Froch has to make the effort to come up to light heavy, he is a proper champion at smw and has not been handed some frank ****** trinket.

In my opinion Froch would stop cleverly late on, cleverly has no power and likes to trade, would be his downfall against Froch.

He has good output but that isn't going to trouble Froch he's been in with way better opposition and it would tell.

 

Nope. Froch is not interested in fighting for the WBO strap. He has stated on countless occasions that he does not recognise it as a legitimate world title.

Cleverly is in no position to call the shots. He has has done little of note and is virtually unknown to the wider world. If he wants to fight Carl he has to make concessions simple.

And for the record I don't think he should be considering a fight with Carl. I think he should be thinking about fighting decent opponents at his own weight.

 

Let Cleverly have a big fight. Then make Froch-Cleverly. (If Cleverly can make super middleweight).

 

Why is he staying at 168? He should be stepping up to 175 and try and be a 2 weight world champion. Kessler is finished as everyone bar Froch knows so a 3rd match is pointless. And he isn't beating Ward he was outclassed last time and will be again. I don't see the point in him staying there.

 

Hearn says Froch is to small for Light Heavyweight... Dont know if true.

 

He's talking bollocks there. He's clearly very comfortable at 168 so stepping up to 175 shouldn't be a problem at all.

 

Cleverly has probably shot himself in the foot, by doing a Chad Dawson and calling him out at 168!

I think so too. Cleverly looks very big. He even is a big light heavyweight. Just look of the size of that dude. :bbb

 

I agree he should try and win a strap at light heavy as there isn't really anything left for him to do at the weight apart from lose a rematch to Andre Ward, or win the WBO strap (which he has never acknowledged as aforementioned).

However he has stated on numerous occasions that he wouldn't be interested at fighting at light heavy, and has even stated that he would only fight Hopkins at a catchweight of 172lbs.

So Nathan has to do come down if he wants to fight Carl. Simple as. Or fight somebody with a pulse at his own weight.

 

If there was no issue of Cleverly making the weight, then Cleverly outworks him for me. Froch will struggle with Cleverly's work rate and style and what the hell are people on about Froch walking through Cleverly?? Cleverly has proven to have at least a decent chin.

 

The Tony Bellew that Cleverly beat, is better than the Glen Johnson and Mack that Froch beat

 

When people say that Froch will walk through Cleverly, they are referring to the fact that Cleverly will not be able to deter Carl from walking him down - i.e Carl will not be bothered by Nathan's power.

And Cleverly has done nothing to suggest he'd beat Froch. Nothing.

 

Agreed.How about the days before super middle was invented.Fighters went up to light heavy from middle.Carl would be a massive middleweight.

 

In my opinion the Tony Bellew that Nathan Cleverly fought is the best Tony Bellew has ever been, and maybe..? from a pure boxing point of view..? the best he will ever be. Seriously he had a world title fight in his home town, he was unbeaten. These are psychological factors that can never be reproduced again.

And no matter what you say about Tony Bellew is a big strong 175 fighter, and Cleverly fought him and beat him at his own game, in his home town.

For all we know, Tony Bellew could beat Carl Froch at 175!
