I think Bellew looked also so good because Cleverly fought "Bellews fight". Like you said. Goign toe to toe with a big ass Light heavyweight like Bellew is pretty good.
I say it now. Cleverly will suprise many guys here. First I did not liked the guy but now I think he can be a great fighter.

Yes! It is clear that he also abused Kessler in training camp.

Clear from his interviewers with Steve Bunce.

Cleverly going toe to toe with Bellew was the reason why he (in the eyes of the judges) won the fight.

If he'd carried on trying to box he'd have lost about 10-2, perhaps 12-0.

He was being stood on his head for large parts of the fight.

As for Cleverly fighting Froch.... I don't think it's a great fight for him. He has the style to cause problems, in particularly on the inside, but his footwork is ****ing rubbish, and his defence isn't smart enough to avoid taking Carl's shots.

Plus, I think he could be pinned down with the jab, if Froch starts landing the right hand with regularity it could spell trouble for Clev. Froch would the most consistently hard puncher he's faced, I don't think Bellew really sat down on his shots all that much because of his really disciplined gameplan, Froch is naturally heavy handed, and might even land one of his slow ass uppercuts if Clev starts bumrushing in.

If Clev bullets the old man and gets a proper trainer he can do well long term, as it is he's a KO waiting to happen. Froch probably won't produce a highlight reel blow, but a late stoppage wouldn't be unlikely.

Froch should do as Ward did hold the kid to his word and see if Nathan wants to fight at SMW.

    Froch got this :deal.

Cleverley seems to have a granite chin.....i honestly wouldn't be surprised if he boxed Froch's ears off! Definitely the better boxer of the two

    No he isn't.

He's better on the inside, but if he tried boxing with Froch he'd get beat 12-0.

Froch as a boxer is underrated. He's not pretty but you'd think he mauls and brawls his way to victory in every fight.

His defence isn't great but it's no way as bad as made out he's fighting at the top level where you will get hit when making mistakes and i see things he does he's not pretty defensively but he knows what he's doing and there's a method to the madness, He's proven his worth again and again.

Will miss him when he retires, It's been a hell of a ride!. Watched him since World Am's and said he'd be a world champion as a pro. He's overachieved though. Immensely proud of him..

Cleverly's last three fights have been against terrible opposition, where he would have learned hardly anything, it's one thing looking good against cannon fodder, (something he failed miserably at when he facing the feared Tommy Karpency) its totally different doing it against world class fighters such as Froch.

I guess we will find out more about Nathan when he finally steps up to world class, if he can be bothered that is.
