Exactly. People need to stop using there "he was injured going in" excuse.

Fighters who really do fight with injuries don't even mention it because they're too proud and don't want to admit weakness, as Carl Froch once said.

Nathan's Dad even said "Nathan didn't get out of 2nd gear". Excuses, excuses, excuses. Both fellas need to get it on again, for themselves and for the fans. There was no clear cut winner from the first fight, just look at the comments on this thread. Some scored it to Cleverly, some to Tony, some a draw. Get it on again and settle the rivalry once and for all. Promoters will inevitably get in the way again though.

Level playing field, it was and will always be a close match-up.

 

Exactly, regardless of who people thought won the first there is no denying it was very close and there is nothing to suggest it wouldn't;t be close again were it to happen.

The only reason why i think Bellew's power may be lacking at 175, is because its a battle to make 175 etc...

At CW Tony could clean up imo, the divisions pretty weak and with his skills I think he could outbox any of the current top guys. There would always be the risk of him getting ko'd as theres some decent punchers there but I think hes smart enough to stick to a gameplan.

 

another good match i reckon. i think i enjoyed the first alot from what i remember. i think bellews at his level at the moment, fringe world, and its encouraging to see him trying to everything to raise himself above this. i think the gradual progression in opponents is about the right pace, any quicker and hed lose.

i do suspect that another opponent or two a couple of higher notches up will prove too much. i hope he proves me wrong. i am a fan and its been great following his career from afar.

as far as clevely goes i havent a clue. lets face it hes the opposite of froch. he comes across as alright on the commentary but its impossible to be a fan of such a stage managed career. id like to see him fight more twice a year as well.

 

In fairness Ive met him and he is a nice kid, but I agree it's difficult to be a fan of a fella with his plastic career. His bandanna and haircut dont help either lol.

 

Clev beat him in his own backyard... Bellew has done nothing but cry and whinge afterwards

 

A rematch I would definitely say bellew takes this unanimously no problem more skill good at adapting and that jab would **** cleverly off only for him to be clocked when he opens up .9 rounds to 3 bellew easily no problem I rather see bellew in much stiffer competition

 

Nathan has a great chin, Bellew 'Bomber ' is a joke name.

Dont get me wrong, i wasn't making excuses for Clev. I know fighting with injuries is part of the game.

I only heard about the Clev injury because Eubank Jnr mentioned it in an interview and didnt even know about the Bellew injury.
