Cleverly Vs Shumenov

johnson and cleverly completely different fighters.

 

Cloud's a bit meh. I don't know why Sillakh never gets mentioned, even though he smashed up a decentish undefeated fighter, and handled Judah in a more impressive fashion than anyone. He should in theory be right in the mix, if they can get him the fights. He's at the level of all these guys, I'd have no issue throwing him in with Pascal, or Tavoris Cloud and seeing if he sinks or swims. Or really just about anyone, except Hopkins.

 

Cloud also wobbled both of them, which is no mean feat.

Agree with TFFP as well, Sillakh is the real deal IMO. I also think Shumenov, right now, would beat Cleverly.

 

I just meant in relation to pressuring him.

 

Unfortunately Sillakh doesn't get a mention cos he's not with a big promoter and brings nothing to the table. He's really high risk/low reward atm.

Shumenov/Cleverly would be a great action fight. I'm worried about Clev's lack of power at the top level, he loves mixing it up but does he have enough to earn the respect of people like Shumenov who doesn't mind taking a punch or two.

 

Campillo destroyed Shumenov, yet got robbed badly :/

 

Agreed..... even though both were past it, to actually get their attention proves he can whack.

Steve is right though, I thought Johnson did enough to win, and the Woods of the Johnson fight would have handled him relatively easily.

Cleverly has work to do, and there's time to fix the obvious flaws that he has. Hopefully they make it their top priority.

 

Campillo is shockingly good. When I saw him coming into that Shumenov fight, I thought he was making up the numbers. SD loss to Murat, dunno if that was a robbery, probably was. But he must have improved a hell of a lot the last few years, he had some old school **** going on the way he was rolling with the punches for a tall guy and countering the **** out of Beibut. He outfought and outboxed him and that second fight robbery was Funeka/Guzman levels.
