It wasn't just Kovalev. As a matter of fact, some people(particularly Brits) picked Clev to outbox Kovalev.

That version of Clev would of got knocked out by Stevenson and Froch and embarrassed by Ward, Hopkins, and Dawson.

The man was 2nd tier at best. It just so happened that he manned up and fought Kovalev thinking he could get a decision in Britain.

Agree. Nate is going to go rat-a-tat-tat on his dome all night long.

Fonfara isn't a future ATG, but seriously, light hitting journeyman Kuziemski had Cleverly on qeer street before getting stopped on cuts, Fonfara has much more power and puts together really nice 3,4 punch combinations when he lets his hands go, my bet: Fonfara by (another) come-from-behind KO/TKO

Cleverly seems to me like he has regressed to be honest, that loss seemingly hit him quite hard. Before I may have backed him to win but of recently he's looked so **** I'm going with Fonfara.

Fonfara is getting better and better while Cleverly has stagnated, going up and down weight classes along with fighting for the first time, I believe on a different continent.

As Cleverly has stepped up in competition his lack of power has been glaringly apparent.

I think both are capable fighters but Fanfare's 4 inch reach advantage and legitimate power is going to dictate this fight.

Cleverly is a never was. Overrated because he held the WBO title that was never won in the ring but handed to him by his promoter thinking he can market Clev to the gullible UK public. He has no A level wins yet people claim he is ruined or damaged goods as if he was something special before Kovalev to begin with.

He has a bit better boxing skill than Fonfara but will get SON'd through grit and toughness(something Clev never had)

Bellew, Murat, Mohammedi, Karpency and Krasniqi were all fairly legit opponents when he fought them.

Fonfara seems to be hitting his prime an is very confident after the Chavez win. Cleverly on the other hand is done mentally as other posters mentioned (in my humble opinion). I think that Fonfara is a save bet.

I don't disagree. Fonfara has built himself into a soild B+ contender. Not A level elite.

Just making a point when I hear that Clev is damaged goods as if he was elite to begin with.

A crop of OK to good wins but not great. Very similar to Fonfara.

Which is exactly why I think this fight may be closer than people think, they're both around the same level.
