Thought they had a big effect in bellows performance after the 4th yet the ref continued to allow him to get away with it,yet in the 1st round the ref is on bellews case for **** all compared to clev's tricks
There was a few that strayed low, but they werent deliberate and a point should never have been taken
Most of therm were most definitely deliberate. The only reason why he never got points of was because they were very sneakily done on the ref's blindside.
Was strange. Ref on Bellews case from 10 seconds in. Those body shots did have an effect and stopped Bellew from winning the fight at range as he was clearly going to do unless you are Dave Paris who fought Cleverly won 9 rds.
As i've mentioned in another thread it did take Bellew out his momentum. I don't know if deliberate i'd hope not but never know..... Anyways Bellew was on a roll IMO racking up round 2,3,4 and starting the 5th extremely well up and till the low blows and then it looked as if Clev gained a foothold in the fight. Round 5 (4:05 onwards) [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCCxtgmKytA[/ame]
Bellew gave a few back, to be fair. A lot of shoulders and forearms going in as well. A rough, tough fight fought by warriors. Neither of then were angels; deal with it.
Rough fight yes but anyone that's been hit low in boxing knows how much it can take out of you let alone 3 shots in space of one minute.
Hell fella, you don't need to be a boxer to know that gettin whacked in the happy sack tends to sting a bit!! Like I said, Tony threw a few back. That evens it up a bit, yeah?
