Ran across this on the internets. Not unimpressive. http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/clifford-etienne.html
Not bad at all, thought Cliff might make some noise after he beat Brewster and then stole the PPV show with his war vs Claybey. His work rate back then was so impressive he threw hard punches every round for the entire round, he seemed like a MACHINE!!! But after the Claybey fight he lost vs Oquendo and then seemed to unravel a bit as a fighter and mentally. I know he's doing life in prison now, but to circle back guy obviously has some artistic talent.
In a cocaine-fueled rage, he committed armed robbery of a check-cashing business, carjacked a family with two young children in the car, then attempted two shoot two policemen. Sentenced to 100-plus years with no possibility of parole. He learned to box in prison when he was serving a sentence for armed robbery, let out after 10 years on good behavior. That mistake will not be made again.
It's a f--ked up story really. This man is 46 years old and has actually discovered/developed two 'special talents' (boxing and painting) in his life behind bars. That's more than most 9-to-5 regular people ever do. But he surely hasn't been able to cope or live in normal society. And, let's face it, he was sh!t at crime. He's destroyed his own life and other lives too, no doubt. It's so unnecessary. Having said that, I don't know the full story.
He's probably safer in there, at least he won't be shot from behind while walking back to his car with his hands up!
Nah, in our civilized country? This would never happen. Our enforcement agencies are not racist. You can go all the way back to Jack Johnsons indictment to see how unbiased we are.
To be fair to Etienne, he allegedly shot AT two policemen, and lived. That doesn't sound like a suitable victim of murderous police.
No he would be safe if he was armed and facing them, its only dangerous if he's unarmed with his hands up , laying down ,or walking away. I met some NYPD in Times Square, this year, they seemed very nice, courteous, level headed and dedicated officers .I guess there are bad apples in every barrel, just like on here!
