Pac would be able to clinch, but you have to get up after the one shot that puts you down. 3 times Pac didn't get up before 10. Here he did. I guess clinching was ok huh hypocrites?

Damn, I just posted this in another thread. But here it goes again...
Clinching has always been in boxing. Clinching will always be in boxing. That will never ever change. To fantasize about it's elimination is just that. A fantasy. So get real and deal with it.

I'm guessing he was being sarcastic. There is absolutely NO WAY a real boxing fan would make a statement like that and mean it.

No one's talking about eliminating it. Refs just need to be more assertive and have the guts to say enough is enough when clinching becomes the main theme in a fight.

You can't limit or eliminate clinching. You can't. It's a part of the sport. The only thing that you can do is penalize.

Broner tried to win by fouling , cheating and spoiling. Thankfully Weeks had none of it.
You can't use clinching to prevent a guy going to work. You out box him or you lose. Its as simple as that.
Porter was all wrong for Broner. Without Haymon the fight would never have been made.

This instance proves beyond doubt that Wlad would have lost to Povetkin badly if Povetkin was allowed work and Wlad was forbidden from lunging down on him every 10 seconds.

Broner was exposed yet again ,, its just a shame Wlad has corrupted the sport so badly that he never got exposed either. Cos Wlad is just a Broner of the HW division. Getting away with foul tactics for 10 years exactly like the tctics Broner tired to get away with last night.

I don't get the Povetkin Wlad comment. Did Wlad clinch too much or lunge down on Povetkin too much?:huh

Yes, clinching cannot be a core part of a boxer's strategy. I agree there should be a 4 clinch rule where after the 4th you get a warning. On the 5th clinch, point deduction.
