Make a habit out of it? Ruiz, of course. Marion Wilson's had a lot of points deduceted for excessive holding, DQ'ed a handful of times as well.
H is for Hugging and H is for Henry..... Henry Akinwande ................ The finest Hugger i have seen in years .. A serial Hugger... Best since Bonecrusher smith... Or even Jessie Ferguson against Mike Tyson........
Most of the fighters pre 1920's about. Joe Gans, Jack Johnson, were all great clinchers. Of couse they also beat the other fellow up in the clich, and not just hold on for dear life like Ruiz did.
Jack was a defensive genius, one of my favorite heavys of all time, just because he was so awkward to beat and had a way about him that was so maverick and against the machine.. Jack was pure awesome..
Ernie Terrell was a master of the clinch and holding, along with using that long left jab of his to win decisions.
Oh yes, Sammy Angott. A guy like Angott was a crafty, smart fighter who used the clutch like a defensive tactic, and that, I admire and respect.
