Why don't more fighters work on clinching?

It's a very underrated aspect of boxing but it can become such a big part of a fight

Tonight is a prime example, Loma used very mmaesque type clinch work with his head placement and short crisps shots on the break. (how the first knockdown came about) why don't more fighters work on this ?

Indeed. I've always wondered why boxers don't train Greco-Roman wrestling. It seems perfect for dealing with inside fighting in boxing since it deals with only grappling above the waist, which is exactly what boxing clinching is all about.

Boxers should look at Hopkins and ward to see how effective clinch work can be

I'm sure it's an important part of their training.

Amateur referees actually enforce the no-holding rule. If anybody tried doing a Hopkins they would get points deducted or DQ-ed.

Many grow up never bothering with it because it barely ever happens.
