Outside of the Tarver fight, Woods has actually been pretty darn good for the last few years. He just didn't look himself that night, no aggression at all. Anyway, Dawson would whomp Woods either way.

This was just an eliminator for the #2 spot though. Now Woods and Cloud will need to fight to make the mandatory. Here's to hoping Cloud wins, but I can see Woods outboxing him.

 

Not sure that's the best fight to base your opinion of Woods on. That's like saying Paul Williams is a crap fighter because he looked bad the first time he fought Quintana.

 

But everytime he goes up against tough competition he loses...Tarver was a step above some of the other fighters and looked what happened...Dawson would be way to strong for little Woods!:bbb

Woods was unimpressive in his last fight and sh*t the bed against Tarver, to the point of where he was talking about retirement.

If Cloud can't get past Woods then he doesn't even deserve a paper title.

Dawson needs to move up and face Adamek or secure a fight with Hopkins (which probably won't happen). LHW and SMW offer no other challenges for him.

 

I don't think he's looking for challenges, he's looking for cold, hard cash, and there's a lot more of that if he stays right where he is than if he moves up. Kid's only what, maybe 27 now? He's got time to build up his legacy. In the meantime, he's looking to get paid before the old fart big names all retire. Other than Adamek, who shows green at cruiserweight?
