The way liston tried to get to his feet then fell back down imo is what gives the game away. I don't believe it was hard enough to drop Liston, its proven the fight was a fix anyway by FBI reports. The Muslims had a firm grip on the outcome of this fight imo

I don’t believe any of that is true.

What would you guys have your fighter do if their opponent ran after them like that after a knockdown?

Watching Liston on the canvas after Ali's "anchor" punch up in Maine in 1965...I've seen better acting in the WWF...

Was Liston supposed to stand up, catch Ali, and supplex him? It’s not a theater play. How was Liston supposed to know what Ali was doing running at him? In boxing you protect yourself. If your opponent starts acting crazy while you’re in a position of vulnerability, it’s probaby not the best idea to get in his way and expect everything will sort itself out.

The fact that a count was occurring while Ali was circling the ring is the rediculous part. Nobody seems to make that into a story, even though it should be.

I think what Ali did was impose his dominance over the big bad bear by running at him while he was getting up. To put physical and mental pressure on the intimidator. Kind of like toying with his kill. A kill that he was once intimidated by. Ali had been preaching his his destiny, and finally got there.

Sonny did eventually resume fighting once he got up. And he was not looking to go over as soon as Ali began firing at him. Liston was on his feet when Nat told Walcott to stop it.

Sonny was on a fast track to a loss in this fight anyway but I think people forget two things, #1 Sonny never got a count. #2 He did get up and continued.

Totally false. He admitted to screaming at Liston... get up, nobody is going to believe this, which by the way, he never retracted. He did claim it was an anchor punch, but later admitted he made that up. Look at the damn video Rez... the punch looks to have barely landed with no leverage or torque behind. He screams at Liston knowing full well what a ko punch should feel like to him. Then, look at Liston reaction... he gets to one knee and then topples over like the poor acting job it was. It was terrible acting. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's a duck.

Not the Muslims, but the stupid Black Muslim organisation, who is not realy Islamic but racist.
I dont think Sonny take a dive, the ref and the dude who dont stop counting are the ones to blame.

I didn't want to put Black Muslims in case I copt a ban, but **** it, its not racial. The ref (Walcott) looked out of his depth imo, and i'm fully convinced he was acting Liston when he tumbled over trying to get up. It didn't look natural to me, like he was thinking about it !

Correct ! Don Dunphy the legendary fight commentator said it best "If that was a punch, i'll eat it " !

    What?
You guys haven't heard the story about when Elijah Muhammad kidnapped Liston and Walcott, and forced them to set up the fight? Here's the kicker. Fleischer was in the room too.

    *hits crack pipe*

And other spectators said "It was a beauty!"
Floyd Patterson: "(Liston deserves a lot of credit from getting up from that punch. You wouldn't have gotten up.)"

    And the camera doesn't lie.
For decades much of the boxing world assumed the punch never even landed.
Now it's obvious that it landed.
It's obvious that it was a properly leveraged power overhand/straight right.
It nailed him on the button, while perfectly timed as a counter over the jab.
Liston didn't see it, nor prepare for it.
His reaction was too quick, and too realistic to be called fake.
    He got knocked down.

Ali believed it adamantly for all his days.

Why was Ali gesturing for Liston to get up as though it was nothing ? Do you not see the terrible acting Liston done trying to get up? If it wasn't for that I wouldn't be so adamant about it because as you say the punch connected whether it was weak or strong !
