And Lou Duva dropped Rocky Marciano's name about 22 million times. F*ck that guy.

Yea in the last round. Problem is Grove boxed his ears off for about 12 of those rounds. The heat got to him but he should have kept his title that day.

No way. He was obviously trying to anger Haugen too.

Initially struck me as a cowardly act because I think that popping off with fighting words like that over a real fighter's shoulder, when you know that the target of your abuse can't and won't retaliate, is a chicken-**** thing to do. You're probably right though--probably more obnoxious and clownish than anything else. Either way, I certainly wouldn't consider him to be a cowardly person in general though.

And this isn't just a matter of his being "rough around the edges." Duva frequently stood out as a ridiculous, inappropriate sideshow in a sport full of men who were rough around the edges.

Duva backed his fighters all right, until they lost and became of no use to him anymore. What a clown.

To be fair, in the war of words between Haugen and Pazienza, Haugen gave way better than he got. The interviews in the boxing magazines at the time we're comedic gold.

Yes. Remember KO Magazine's dual interview with both of them at the same time, done via teleconference? That was good stuff.

Good point—I’ll have to revisit the buildup. I remember seeing a segment of Pazienza and someone else (probably Haugen) going back and forth before someone else’s fight somewhere on YouTube. I’m gonna try to track that down.

Vinny Pazienza is probably the only boxer I really hate or have a genuine dislike. I enjoyed seeing Loreto Garza slice him up but Roy Jones gave him what he what he needed.

They should have cast him for Jersey Shore.

Oh, Haugen more than held his own with fat Lou...big time. Wish those insults were recorded or on video,...but anyway, the verbal war between Haugen and Paz went on and on....
When it came to a certain Mexican, it kinda backfired on Greg however,....
