1_ marciano was not a hw,we are judging his speed and the fact he was only 185 is very relevant because he was slow even when he was only 185.

2_ you need watching much more of the early fights of george

BTW for anybody still reading this deep into the thread, here is my breakdown of the Marciano vs Moore fight. It's one of my better ones I think. https://imgur.com/gallery/xn2lt

    1. Marciano went 49-0 as a heavyweight and was a lineal title holder for a time. I'm judging him as a heavyweight, not by poundage. The same would be true if i was comparing the peak 220 pound version of Foreman against the 240+ pound peak version of Lennox Lewis.

    2. I am not worried about his early fights against lesser opposition when he was green. The Foreman to compare is the one from Frazier to Jimmy Young.

1_ if rocky fought in the hw division or not it is irrelevant we are talking about his speed in relationship with his weight and he weighed 185 and was slow like **** on his feet and it is the only important thing, he could be undefeated 200-0 and fighting in the mega hiper hw division.. Still he was 185 pounds and slow period.

2_ so you invent a rule... Now foreman at fighter only can be judged since the joe frazier fight and before of that does not matter... Foreman was 1-0 after his fight with joe

    Bravo john lol

    1. Ummmmm NO! Your comment was this, and i quote - "One thing is sure.. Marciano is the slowest great hw ever on his feet."

There is nothing there about speed in relationship to weight. We were never talking that per your choice of topic. Not even close. 185 pounds has aboloutely zero to do with what we are talking.

    2. I am putting forward absolute peak Foreman. This is the Foreman to judge yes? How would you feel if people put up the Foreman 10 or 15 fights into his career against the greats in fantasy matches? That's not the Foreman we judge. Whether you think he was quicker or not before he was ever proven to be world class is irrelevant.

Joe Bloggs was super fast in the ams but put on a lot of bulk and strength and was quite slow by the time he won the world title. Does his speed in the ams really matter when comparing him speed wise to another great heavyweight? No.

John stop mixing apples with oranges... We are talking about a single department... Speed of feet period... Forget legacy, quality of oposition etc
And what i meant... Was... Marciano was slow on his feet specially for a guy of his weight and even if you judge him overall comparing with bigger guys he still looked ponderous. Yes.. I say 100% que a young foreman was much more dinamic than rocky on his feet
Where is the imaginary slow mummy here? It is a joke a young foreman never was that slow like 4 haters try to attribute him
