The aging Simon Brown showboating before staggering Norris with some hard punches late in the third round, en route to pulling off the upset of the year. https://streamable.com/maeu6
Good find. You should put this up in the Winky vs Norris thread as exhibit A for why he couldn’t handle Winky. If he couldn’t avoid Brown’s jab, as evidenced by this clip, he’d need to wear a neck brace after Winky finished with him.
Norris fell in love with his power by the time he and Brown finally met. This severe azz kicking was a huge wake up call and the rematch was more akin to what Terrible Terry could accomplish inside the squared circle.
How about showing the rematch as evidence as well? biased opinions are boring and common place on here
If I remember Norris shut out Brown 12-0. It was part of the stacked Don King card in 1994 called "La Revancha: The Rematches". Probably the best fight card I've ever seen!!
It all came down to whether or not Norris used his brain or not, if not he was vulnerable...when he boxed smart he was close to unbeatable
Exactly. Dude was a world beater when on point. When he wasn't he'd struggle with Troy Waters and get DQ'd against Luis Santana.
Posting this video is not biased. It’s just a good exhibit for why I firmly believe Winky would handle even the most focused version of Norris, specifically the version who whitewashed Brown in the rematch. As someone in this thread stated, Norris’s focus from fight to fight significantly affected the outcome. Head to head against Winky, particularly at 154 where Winky never had an embarrassing night on par with Norris/Brown 1 or Norris/Waters, the only outcome I see is a loss for Norris.
He was fighting smart with Jackson and he was knocked out. I am not sure he was unbeatable. His chin could be reached.
