I feel the same. FMJ was just that good.

Out of Duran, SRL and Hearns, IMO Hearns has the best chance of beating Floyd, but it's not a guarantee.

People do the same thing to your favorite 1950s era and yet you're fine doing that as well? Skillsets of Gans, Langford, Leonard, Tunney, McFarland and others are much more impressive than Marciano's.

To be fair, smaller boxers usually tend to be more skilled than HWs.
Anyway, Rocky was never known to be the epitome of skills.

I know that, but my point is that pre-1930s fighters weren't unskilled at all.

Really ? I favour all of 3 of them (prime version) to beat Floyd. Hearns would dominate him.

I don't favour all 3. Mayweather can easily frustrate Duran and he is capable of out-pointing Leonard.
Hearns has a great jab and hits very hard, so I favor him since it's gonna be hard for Floyd to get close

I don’t think there skill sets are.
I can see that Archie Moore, Ezzard Charles, Harold Johnson,Walcott, Willie Pep, SRR, Patterson, and yes Marciano are more skilled then those men. And just as skilled as today’s fighters. I respect your opinion to think otherwise. To be fair I think the men could have competed fine. Just would have to change their style.

    1. Leonard did adjust against Hagler. Mayweather isn't the GOAT at anything other than being overrated.

    2. How do you know the eye injury didn't affect his performances?

    3. Fury was an up and comer in 2013. Stevenson was nothing special either. None of this takes away from the fact that the version of Canelo that Mayweather beat was nowhere near the boxer he is today. He was certainly nowhere near the boxer that Duran, Hearns and Leonard were in their primes. You would have to be delusional to think otherwise.

He was good, yes. Still nowhere near as good as fanboys like yourself make out.

Leonard, Hearns and Duran would actually find away around Mayweather's defence quite easily. Leonard with volume, Hearns with reach, and Duran with pressure and mixing things up.

    Your hero would be beaten.

Do you honestly believe that Rocky is more skilled than Joe Gans, Benny Leonard or Packey McFarland? Seriously?

Haven’t watched enough of them to make that judgement. I’ll check it out for sure. But from what I’ve seen of just about all 20s down fighters isn’t good. I don’t know how you can say it was. I think Marcianos skill sets are highly underrated. Defense, counter punching, use of angles, ability to control distance (underrated skill), close off a ring, great hooks and uppercuts (useless jab I know). There are a few exceptions in the 20s like Tunney but even then he was the exception. Not the rule. I’m not knocking these fighters but I view it as more like ufc in its infancy. I think that’s a fair evaluation.
