I think Moorer didn't get credit for his constant work to the body. He would score with nice short hooks and uppercutts everytime they got close. Outboxed is the right word. But Holy bounced back heroically indeed.
I actually thought Forrest/Quartey was close. The Viper should have been credited with a kd in the 3rd, and certainly out-hustled a lethargic Ike in a number of other rounds. I think Cotto-Mosley was a pretty clear decision in favor of Miguel (7-4-1 margin). Don't get the cries of robbery in that one. I also think Leonard-Benitez wasn't a particularly close fight. If anything, I think Duran-Leonard was closer and more competitive fight than this was.
I gave Oscar three of the first four. Then Ike started punching. Oscar NEEDED a 12th like that to pull it out, but he got it, imo.
I thought Ike dominated Oscar, but hey. For me, Mayweather Castillo Castillo gives 4 of 5 rounds away to me, and is losing clearly before both point deductions on both sides That's 4 rounds 1 10-8 round and 1 9-9 round. Even if you give Castillo every other round, he still loses ..and Floyd won a few of the middle rounds. It was competitive as Floyd didn't thoroughly outclass him, but it was clear and not close enough to cause controversy.
I'm a certified ***** in General, and I have Castillo winning 115-112 or 116-112 everytime. Floyd did well but Castillo dictated what was happening after round 4. Please tell me you scored the 10-8 round for Castillo and the 9-9 round for Floyd :nono
Thought Floyd edged Castillo by the skin of his teeth. Had the deductions not occurred, Castillo would have probably edged it for me.
Ali vs Norton III, nothing about this fight was close at all. Norton won at least 10 of the 15 rounds if not 11. Pac/Marquez bouts, all of them. Pac won every fight, they were competative but not close by any means.
Wilfred Benitez vs Roberto Duran The scoring officials did everything possible to keep it close, but Wilfred won going away, by a solid '5-points' (9-4-2 in Rounds). Muhammad Ali vs Leon Spinks I Again, Muhammad Ali got the benefit of the doubt, but luckily '2' of the officials stayed in the ballpark. Leon won solidly, by 4-points (9-5-1 in Rounds)
If someone uses the word "robbery" for that fight, it's simple, you don't take them seriously. I don't even remember anyone saying anything about Mosley winning until quite a while after the fight. Months. I was pulling for Dzin, but I also thought Gonzalez won the fight.
Tyson-Holyfield 1 honestly i cannot see someone giving tyson more than 2 rounds and even that is being generous.
