Close, great, action packed fights do not equal to robberies

Martinez vs Williams, one score card was a robbery, although the fight could have gone either way.

 

I had Froch a narrow winner against Dirrell and Kessler eeking it out last night.

The interesting thing is that if the losing fighter in both contests had capitalised on their best moments, they'd have emphatically won. Dirrell if he'd fought more of the fight as he did in the last few rounds instead of spending most of the time flailing, holding and whining and Froch if he didn't take his foot off the pedal after hurting Kessler.

 

This doesn't make any sense.

 

While I thoroughly agree generally, I did think that the scoring of this fight was appalling. I had Froch up by a good three rounds. Take a good look at the fight again, Kessler's connection percentage was low, low, low.

Froch was magnificent last night. He trained that hard for something and delivers, it's dreadful when it's taken away from him with three judges who simply shouldn't be allowed to ever judge a fight.

Close fights aren't robberies - but this was not a close fight.

 

Couldn't agree more. Every close fight always ends up being called a robbery, so many drama queens in the general forum it's ridiculous.

The 117-111 scorecard from Tillman was not a suprise to be honest the guy is either blind and ******ed or corrupt which based on his performance in the Ottke/Reid fight is very likely. He should never be allowed to ever be involved in a fight again the guy is either totally inept or there to be bought.

 

Btw, the two threads about Froch being robbed, maybe you should look at the posting history of those involved.:yep

Well Said...But "real fight fans" don't really mentioned the word Robbery. The problem is (especially with me)...is that recently (past 5 years or so) we have seen on FAR TOO MANY occasions, good close fights was RUINED by one judges scorecard. You'll have two cards reading 115-113 -114-114 - and the other judge will bring 120-107 out his ass...THAT'S JUST WRONG!!!

 

yep, but you see it in all sports. People blame refs or anyone but the fighter/team for a loss. ****ed up cards in what should be a close fight raise eyebrows but it still doesn't make the end result bad.
