Just goes to show he could still make 140. If he loses this he should drop back down, he can still make some noise there.
he looked great and if he losses I don't think it will be because of his weight.. but I agree with you I think if he dropped down to 140 he could make some serious ass noise there !!
I said this before and I'll say it again Judah if he really wanted to could make 140, the only reason he won't go back is because of the lack of name opponents. Besides Hatton who else is there that could generate big ppv numbers? Malignaggi sure wont. Witter wont.
You aint kidding, I never really bought the whole Judah can easily move down to 140lbs, but I guess he really can. Fighting Hatton there makes a lot of sense, besides coming in at that kind of weight might make Oscar interested in Judah.
any last minute thoughts? I want Judah but the noggin says Clottey will be able to weather anything Zab can throw at him, hopefully I'm wrong
I dont think its a question of that, who would buy a De La Hoya-Judah PPV? I know I sure as hell wouldn't. There is nothing remotely interesting about it. If Judah beats clottey which I can guarantee he won't, he should fight Hatton in England. It will do more for his resume than a washed up fighter on his way out.
What's with all this 140 ****? Judah does not want to fight at 140. Just because he weighed in at 143 doesn't mean he can make 140. Those extra 3 lbs. are a lot. Constantly losing that weight wouldn't be a cake walk either.
I'm sure he's motivated for this fight since he has a personal score to settle with Clottey. A big money match is waiting for him against Margo if he can get by Clottey which should be added incentive.
Yeah, that can't be ignored. He was training, got hurt, and Shane took the opportunity to duck Judah. Luckily, Clottey was man enough to fight Judah. Judah is something else. He fought Mayweather and Cotto, and lost both fights. Somehow, he was presented with an opportunity to fight Williams in February. An injury forced him to withdraw. He was then presented with an opportunity to fight Margo in April, but couldn't agree on money. He then got an opportunity to fight Mosley in May, but Mosley ducked him at the first chance. Despite all of this, he's now fighting Clottey for a major world title.
I don't know how easily Judah can make jr welter and if he could I don't know how effective he would be. A couple of his last fights have been over the 147 limit as well. Going up and down divisions isn't usually the easiest and best thing to do. That aside, I like Judah tonight. I think he beats Clottey to the punch most of the night. Clottey will make it tough for Judah and I wouldn't be surprised if Judah has to get off the floor. But I see Judah winning by a close split/majority decision. And don't be surprised if talks of DLH-Judah start gaining speed if Judah does win tonight.
:yep He's too big a puncher for DLH. As for Hatton, Well, considering they are both small WW, maybe they could fight "at 147", which would really be 143 for these two. If not, It's definitely worth Zab trying to get down to 140 for this clash. It would be lucrative, and no way could Hatton stand up to those bombs Zab caught Cotto with
