According to ESPN, this fight is ready to get signed and close to be on. So Zab Judah will fight Joshua Clottey for the IBF welterweight title vacated by Antonio Margarito on HBO Boxing After Dark... I think it's really hard to pick a winner here... Clottey did great things lately and he's very highly rated among the hardcore fans and I feel the same bunch of guys are writing off Judah a little bit. But in the meantime, Clottey IS a terrific fighter and Judah seems to be over his prime, so even if he's far more talented, it's really tough to pick a clear favorite here... What do you thing guys?
I'm with you, man. Tough to pick a winner. Is Clottey as good as I think he is? Maybe, he has looked good in recent fights. On the other hand, when was the last time Zab had a big win? His ability has always made him a possible pick, but I think I'll go with Clottey on this. Don't write that in stone, though.
Why not have Mosley fight Collazo for the vacated belt. Zab is the one who got injured. Mosley should be ready to fight.
Clottey's chance to shine. :yep If he blew this chance it may never come back again. Question? Why Zab Judah ??? :think Clottey is rated #1 challenger and Berto is #2. Berto is undefeated while Zab already lost to Baldomir, PBF and Cotto, plus a no contest against Galvan. This sucks. :-(
MY BAD FELLAS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didnt mean Collazo! I meant, why not have Mosley fight Clottey for the vacated belt.
Do you know the IBF ratings? 1. Clottey 2. Andre Berto 3. Zab Judah 4. Shane Molsey 5. Luis Collazo Why would you let the #4 and #5 rated fighters fight for the title? :rofl :yep
good point it would be a great oppurtunity to see berto take a step up in competition and fight either clottey or judah
The reason I wouldnt want Berto in there just yet is b/c I dont think he has fought a good journeyman yet. If he were to fight Clottey/Zab and lose, it would ruin his career or at the least set him back a few years. I do think he has the skills to beat Clottey, mostly b/c of his exceptional speed. But clottey has great defense. Zab, while always unreliable, could very well destroy Berto. I just think in Berto's case, the risk is too high. Let him fight someone like Collazo to see how he does. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but i just dont want Berto to be set back b/c I think he has great potential. But perhaps, you guys are right. Maybe he is ready. One thing, I wont argue though is that he does deserve the fight based on his ranking. I'm just not sure if he is ready.
HBO wants Clotty vs. Judah. then serving up the winner to Andre Berto. (Berto prob took some kickback $)
