Looks like Shane is looking for a match with Mayorga.

maybe the fact that berto already got a fight scheduled in a few weeks got something to do with it?

makes sense to me. this will also give berto a chance to get another win or 2 under his belt. i say he must first fight someone very fast/slick and someone with good defense.

currently he has fought pretty slow fighters who were there to be taken.

A focused Zab in good cardio shape like in the Spinks rematch WILL win or possibly even stop the fight. Clottey is very tough and went 12 hard rounds with Margarito but this style match up favors Zab. Clottey is nowhere as gifted as Judah and doesn't have the kind of power that Cotto does or the type of skills to outbox Zab like Floyd did. Remember Zab has to get really beaten up to get discouraged and have his gameplan unravel. Zab is nowhere over his prime.

He's only 30 yrs old and his skills and reflexes are still there. He may lose some fights but he doesn't appear nowhere old or past his prime. In fact in oppose to what everyone else may think he showed ALOT of guts in the Cotto fight and I thought he looked pretty good. I think his cardio was good for that fight cause you can't put on a gutty performance like that and not have at least a descent gas tank. In fact i'd like to see what that fight would look like low blows aside.

The complexion of the fight changed as soon as he was fouled and noone seemed to notice or admit that. I pick Zab to beat Clottey either by a decision or TKO. However I don't expect Clottey to lay down either. I think it'll be a good fight.

I would have Berto take at least two more fights just below the level of Clottey/Zab. Maybe let the Clottey/Zab winner defend the title once and then let Berto step up late 2009.

Ideally Berto would be on an HBO undercard with the Clottey/Zab winner.

I don't think you are paranoid. I think it might be a little early for Berto. I have the same concerns about him being put in there too soon.

Clottey by KO or TKO.. Clottey is a BIG welterweight with a very good defense and high guard. Look for CLottey to break Zab down and look for Zab to be on the retreat and turn into a shell again when the going gets tough!

Zab is shot. It would be impressive if he won.

this should be a fun fight with Clottey winning by UD or TKO in the last three rounds, unless judah comes unprepared, in which case it is a mid round TKO, but I think Judah knows he is not getting many second chances after this.

I think mentally weak Judah will strike again, and Clottey will systematically break him down in close, with his considerable size advantages

    Relatively confident about this one

Judah will win if he's 90% as motivated/focused as he was for the Cotto match, it's a 70/30 fight. Looks like Zab is going to have a title again..

Zab had claims that he is a better boxer now, he even made a bet of 1,000 that he would KO Mosley

I want to believe him b/c he a skillful and fun fighter to watch, he has the potental to still be great

Yet something in my mind tells me that he is going to still give up mentaly after Clottey hits him with some hard shots

    Still... Judah SD
