A grand total of 35k made by Top Rank. Nobody else bid.

Surely these guys are worth more than 17.5k a fight? This further proves my example that boxing is definately not a rich man's sport.:-(

I dont care about numbers,i just wanna see good fights and this fight is a hell of alot better then alot of these fights coming up on ppv and i like the fact that it's a ibf eliminator match for the ibf championship and that means we get to see collazo vs cintron sometime next year.

Top fighters but not popular. Boxers need to understand this is a business and its entertainment too. If they are serious, this is the sort of fight they need to take to elevate themself.

Clottey is a 2nd rate fighter, first of all. Collazo is a contender level and will defeat him, contrary to popular opinion on ESB, this will not be competitive in the slightest and there is no surprise it has no selling ability.

It is a FNF or undercard worthy bout, that's it.

If he's on, I would probably favor him. Clottey is physically strong, but doesn't apply the same pressure Hatton does - even when RH weighed 147 - nor does he have the same workrate. He's fast, but not as fast as Sugar Shane. But then again, Collazo seems beatable and I wouldn't be surprised if Clottey beat him.

My point wasn't about the matchup anyhow. If this doesn't dispell some of the illusions about pro boxers being rich and well off nothing will.

These guys are as high profile as you get outside of champion/elite level. Yet they are making 17.5k for a fight. Take out what you pay for your training and manager costs. It ain't much.

i dont think clottey was making excuses that fight. i mean, he still toughed it out with one hand for like 7 rounds - that shows some balls and heart

i mean the dude can barely speak english give him a break. besides the injury was legit, when he was fighting margo all of a sudden the left hands stopped. I mean , i wouldnt imagine he would make himself fight one handed becuase he was winning the fight pretty clearly. he said he hurt his knuckle to the interviewer too, that **** hurts too. especially if you break a knuckle not nice.
