Clottey was giving MArgo a tough time and I for one completely believe his hand injury. He beat up corralles (rip) pretty bad too-even if diego was well above his weight class. Clottey may not be a top-top guy ...but he is no b leveler and would give most of the best WW a lot to handle. I think the same of collazo. It is a disgrace that the bid was 35K if Hatton Mayweather is 10 ill these guys should at least be splitting 500000.

    Collazo UD.

Clottey is over rated by many and doesnt have the heart or skill to pull this one out unless Collazo has really been affected by his hand injury.

clottey has heart, fought one handed against margo which (despite what amsterdam says) is a good, strong, and dangerous fighter. good strong, quick left hook too. I like when he triples up with it he catches people with that.

You make a good point, AD. When people ask me how much boxers make, I usually answer, "not enough". For every million dollar purse there are hundreds of guys fighting for no more than a couple of hundred bucks per round, if that.

17.5 K is going to disppear fast one the expenses and taxes are taken out. :-(

Unfortunately, it takes hard work and a lot more. Luck, image, the right connections, etc. Think of how long it took BHop to start making really good money. He had his purses in the neighborhood of 10 grand even after he became champ.

P.S. Love the avatar. You remain my favorite poster in that regard. :good

I agree to an xtent with wat was said, But i do think you can make money in boxing. Collazo not really a good name, a decent boxer but he is not a "household name" i mean 17.5 is kind of low. But he aint really nobody. 2 me I think boxers can make it big, but you just have to take the right steps as in any sport.

Same ****, like Basketball some people have to join teh NBDL be4 they can make the NBA, or some players do the over seas route be4 they make it big. And then you ahve some players that come str8 in movie up in rank to get title shots.

Same in boxing some fighters have good amateur careers, get hired by a promotion company and they put them in positions to make it big. Others dont really have a good amateur career, so they might still get an agent but wont get pushed to fight top opposition as yet, (NBDL scenerio)
and some actually fight overseas to get exposure. The money is there, fighters just need to put themself in a position to get it. IMO

collazo to me seemed like the mentally weak one. he broke down during the mosley fight. Now mosley is elite and looked real sharp, but collazo was catching shane with the straight lefts. Clottey's loses were a bs DQ and a hand injury which he still fought through. I dont really consider those losses.

35K is a joke for these two fighter - but they both know that if they win this fight there are bigger pay days a head of them.

    Clottey by KO.

cmon man your reaching here. Its not cheating to me if they come in heavy like that. it means they are killing themselves to make weight and that will drain them. It does not come without a cost.

yeah except collazo was never winning the fight and getting beat down and he knew it. he was still throwing left hans too btw which is why that excuse was bs.

    Stop being stupid.

Clottey was leading against Baldo and Margo then issues came into play. Quite Vitali like I think.

    Clottey is a good fighter.

I think Collazo should win the decision. He has the right style to beat Clottey.
