I haven't seen the fight recently; but it was always my impression that Pacquiao's offense scared Clottey and thats why he did nothing but defend... Maybe he didn't get hurt; but it is hard to get hurt when all you are concentrating on is defense.

It is also worth noting that Clottey always has an excuse for his losses; it is never his fault, never. He is probably one of the biggest sore losers in the sport... What he doesn't realize is that being a whiner doesn't win you fans.

I want to address the theory that he could have won some of his more closely contested fights if he had only been a bit more offensive. While the statement may be true, there is one important element that needs to be considered. He is not capable of being more aggressive; If he had been more offensive he would have gotten hurt more, and could have possibly been knocked out. That is why Clottey will always be a B+ fighter; because he is terrified of taking risks.

Of course Pac never hurt Clottey considering that Clottey was content to stay behind his guard (even more than usual) and survive 12 one-sided rounds. He never made himself vulnerable which, in my book, is worse than if he opened up and suffered beating.

    :huh

You shouldn't say **** like that gyll... it sounds like gay jealously. Yes, Clottey wanted to hurt Manny. Did you see Manny's ear after the fight?

And this is why Margarito poses a threat to Manny... Manny's punches might be ineffective against Margarito, leaving Margarito a "puncher's chance" at knocking out Manny...

has anyone watched clottey before? He always fights in a shell. The difference is he didnt have a guy who could throw 1000 punches at him with speed and power. Manny probably didn't hurt him because CLottey never stopped covering up plus he has a good chin. Those body shots probably had him shitting his pants eventually though.

Like he has done before in his big fights, he always lets the nerves get the best of him.

Clottey said the exact same thing after Cotto, and it wouldn't surprise me if he said the same thing after losing to Margarito.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again Clottey has C-class offense hiding behind his A-class defense.
