"Clottey, 31, is hopeful of getting a fight against Antonio Margarito, the recently crowned WBO welterweight champion who sat at ringside a week after dethroning previously-unbeaten Miguel Cotto's in the year's biggest fight thus far. Margarito made it clear that he wants a big fight against boxing's cash cow Oscar De La Hoya. "I'm not going to make plans,'' Margarito said. "I heard Oscar say he wants the winner (of Margarito's fight against Cotto). Guess who won?" Clottey fought well in losing a 12-round unanimous decision against Margarito in 2006. If he can't get a rematch, he said "I want Andre Berto,'' naming the WBC welterweight beltholder as his preferred next opponent."
berto is in a tight spot right now..the wbc doesn't mandate bums unlike wbo he's going to have to step up pretty soon
Well . . . that's not Clottey's fault . . . he worked hard for his belt. Going after an in-experienced belt holder is more logical than figthing Colazo or Baldomir who's got a lot of experience.
Well . . . I won't be suprised. Like I said a belt holder against a belt holder . . . is logical. Clottey can then prove what came out of his mouth. :hey Let' get that on! :good
I agree but hopefully he doesnt break a finger nail and ***** about it. Margarito takes no prisoners. :thumbsup
Berto's gonna put Clottey in a casket..... but i do agree, he has some heavy balls for calling a beast like Berto
Great stuff.Clottey is good and will fight anyone including the so called feared margaritto.Sadly margaritto didnt mind fighting Judah because its easy.Clottey is the man in the WW.He can beat anyone in there and noone will fight him.
Clottey is unimpressive. I had Judah winning the fight when it stopped, 6 - 3. I really only saw 2 rounds that Clottey clearly won and like the B-Hop fight it was because Judah was not doing anything, more than Clottey beating the fight out of him. I can definitely see Berto beating Clottey, just because of the fact that when a flurry is coming Clottey stops his offense and just covers up. I also noticed that his defense isn't as impecable as you all claim, Judah in the 8th was starting to break his guard and I think it sucks that he was not able to take advantage of the body work he was laying into Clottey. Berto can take this fight. What I want to know is why Berto, Clottey, and Margarito have been ignoring Paul Williams. If you didn't know any better you would think he wasn't even a WW belt holder.
