Not only did Clottey dump the fight with his posing, he got himself banged up pretty nicely when he wasn't doing enough. Nice one, Joshua. Hope it was good for you.
Look the last two rounds weren't really clear either way. Cotto didn't land more he just moved. So do you score for the man running or the man chasing. When you're moving boxing and countering you deserve it. When you just try to stay out of the way, then what?
Exactly, clottey was fighting a 1 eyed fighter who could not see the right coming and let him last 12 rds in the home court. STUPID
cotto clearly won 1, 4, 6, 11, 12 and had a knock down in the first, you would have had to give clottey EVERY close round for clottey to have won that fight... cotto had a bad cut on his eye in the 3rd round on from a headbutt and faced one of the most avoided fighters in boxing and won... the hbo announcers all agreed the fight was cotto best victory in his career!!!
Dude he fell down way hard. He had to take a breather and a rest to recover. That don't look like he's quitting.
Cotto is a real fighter with heart. He not once said anything about the eye in the corner, & clottey was almost going to give up. In my opinion Cotto won this fight fair and square. I had him winning by one round cause of the knockdown. Its clotteys fault, he had a one eyed boxer in the ring with himself & he did nothing except get hit with cotto's counters. I think after the first knockdown he was a little to cautious in fear he would get caught again.
clottey didnt even hardly throw at all in the last two rounds how could any one give him either of those rounds... the announcers and clotteys fans both talked about how clottey wasnt even throwing punches... and cotto hit clottey with a couple of left hook bombs that clearly won him the rounds
agree. clottey basically gave away the last 3 rounds by being inactive, not pressing the action and not throwing enough punches. he had cotto in big trouble in the 8th and for some inexplicable reason, just let up in the last third of the fight. he threw it all away. :-(
Cotto ran like hell so it was very hard for Clotty to catch him, but in the interview clotty said he had to be cautious coming in. So all in all, I guess it is his fault and isnt at the same time.
It looked liked Clottey was looking for a easy way out. If Cotto wouldn't have got cut, he would have won much easier.
ALZHEIMER'S ANYONE:?? I guess everyone ragging on Clottey forgot that he twisted his knee in the fight and was clearly slowed down by it; but I guess if a wound doesn't have blood gushing from it, it isn't recognized:verysad. Cotto better be thanking God for that one. Without the knee injury, Clottey would've blown Miguel out.
Clottey ****ed himself 1) Cotto was cut early messed with him all fight long 2) The guy went down from a jab in rd 1 for a 10-8 3) he gave away rds easily, he always does this 4) he seemed to gas at the end and didnt work in rd 11 and 12
