If Williams takes this fight and beats Clottey he'll win over alot of naysayers. This is a big opportunity, not only at a belt, but furthering his overall credentials and claim to premiere status.

If this fight come to fruition, one things for sure and that's PTP's 1st rd ko streak comes to an end. Clottey's defense is arguably the tightest in all of boxing and at 147 PTP's chin is just supurb so I think it's safe to say that the fight will be decided on the cards. I see PTP going back to a volume punching style because Clottey is so defensive and although he may not land cleanly all too much I think the judges will ultimately reward PTP for his activity and he'll win a comfortable decision.

I think if Clottey really wants the fight then PTP will be forced to take it. After months of bragging that he's "the most avoided fighter", it wouldn't look all too good if PTP ducked this fight. Also after refreshing his comments recently about wanting to clean out 147 I don't see how he could decline a unification matchup and still be taking seriously as "the most avoided fighter".

RIght, if Al Haymond tries to recycle Forbes or someone of that ilk for WIlliams on HBO Nov 29, then Williams loses a LOT of respect. and actually solidifies Margarito and Clottey's status. Paul must take on Clottey, the fight is practically slapping him in the face to be taken.

This fight isn't happening, so I don't understand why people are even talking about it. The only way this fight happens is if Clottey takes the fight for free, which would be ******ed. It might happen next year sometime, but instead Arum is probably going to want to match up Cotto with Clottey at some point to get Cotto a belt back, to build up a Margarito rematch. The only way this fight happens is if Arum thinks Cotto is shot, so he tries to get Clottey the next biggest money fight available, and if it does happen, it wouldn't be until the middle of next year.

People who are trying to hype this up have no understanding of the business of boxing.

to get a cotto a belt lmao, clottey would beat cotto no doubt about it, just too much physical strength and similar hand speed/power, Cotto would tag Clottey but his will to fight once again will be broken and he'll either stopped late

There's still time for Williams-Margarito II this year and Team Williams has already made an offer that Margarito turned down...

It's pretty interesting that Top Rank fighter Clottey calls out Williams but the other Top Rank guy stays silent for now... (what a coincidence: now he's got a lot to lose: anothet good Cotto payday)

No offense... but BRING ON WILLIAMS-MARGARITO II! It is THE legitimate WW fight! :happy

This fight should happen... Williams and Clottey are the true top WW's

What I don't get, though, is how all of a sudden these Margo-bitches want to see Paul fight anyone but their guy. They are just hoping and praying that someone else takes care of Williams, so their "fearless Mexican warrior" hero won't have to.

First they made the excuse that Arum and Haymon weren't able to do business, and now all of a sudden Clottey v. Williams can happen. Why don't we all just go ahead and admit it...

Arum doesn't want his new cash-cow Margarito to get

! Williams beats him again and he is DONE! And Arum knows this is a real possibility.

Exactly, Margo has a tuneup scheduled for Jan, and then the Cotto rematch. Cintron said he wants to fight Margo again, maybe they can have a trilogy if Margo gets past Cotto again. Williams should clean out the division by beating Clottey and Berto then move on to 154.

Well if he beats Clottey and Berto, why would he stay at 147? He already beat Margo, and team Margo seems to still hold a grudge because they didn't get an immediate rematch a year ago. There's no reason to stay 147 if Margo doesn't want to fight him. He can go to 154 and still get some good fights.
