Clottey or Hatton?

What stage?

 

No doubt. Any other opinion is just fanaticism.
However - Cottley was the victim of his own passive style. You have to take the title away from the champion to beat him.

 

They're both overrated but beating the man at 140 a weight where he never lost at its a better win than Clottey.

 

Hatton right now is damaged goods.

Beating him now would be irrelevant, IMO. If he decides to carry on and gets a few decent wins.... then perhaps.

Clottey basically giftwrapped the fight to Cotto by doing nothing in the last two rounds.

 

you gonna hear a lot of stuff going both ways...hatton was passed it, cotto had a cut the better part of the whole fight, clottey was better than hatton, clottey should have won, etc...

i suppose all are relevant points. cotto fought bravely against arguably better competition (clottey), but the bottom line is hatton was the man at 140 and was iced early after having already spent time on the canvas.

 

I will say Hatton because Cotto lost that fight.

 

I'm more of a Cotto fan than Pac fan and hope Cotto wins, but if I go with which is the better win......

Clottey is definitely the better fighter straight up, but if we go with the who is better as an ATG Hatton was definitely heads and heals over Clottey in accomplishments and look good in a recent fight over Maliganni.

If we also go by action in the fight Pac utterly destroyed Hatton in his first true test in a higher weight class. On the other hand Cotto squeezed by an opponent who is really his inferior, but not without good reason (the cut and Clottey getting lazy)

This poll is really more about suggesting who is the better fighter by suggesting which was the better win. Well we'll find out when the fight actually happens, but I'm rooting for Cotto even if his win was as great.

 

Hatton was #10 on the p4p list. Pacquiao destroyed him in 2 rounds. Cotto barely beat Clottey.

The only difference is that Clottey is a WW, and Hatton is a JrWW.

but p4p Hatton is a better win by far.

 

so now 72% of people on ESB think beating Clottey by split decision is a better win than KO2 over Ricky Hatton?
