I'll believe it when I see it. Right now it looks like Williams is scared of his daddy Joshua Clottey.

Berto is the only one that doesnt fit in the list. He better step up or leave the division.

I think Cotto and Margo can beat Clottey as well. Clottey keeps his hands up real high exposing his body alot. Cotto could really take advantage of that, he will risk getting himself roughed up in the process.

Clottey isn't a slouch by any means he'll give any top welter a run for their money, but at the same time he can be beat by them, except for Berto (a little too green still).

Margarito is the #1 Welterweight in the world. Clottey and Williams will have to fight over his scraps. Then the winner can fight Cotto, and whoever wins that goes to the top of Margarito's waiting list.

    .....It's an inside joke, Reg.

Damn, the guy is 24 and just won his title. Give him a chance. Cintron won a vacant title(ironically, it was also vacated by Mayweather). His first defense was against a guy Berto knocked out and his second defense was against a straight up D level fighter. Hell, Cotto won a vacated at 140 at about the same age as Berto. He never faced any of the elite fighters in that division. Berto will fight the top guys soon enough.

If Williams and Clottey have this playoff, the call from the boxing community will be deafeningly loud that Margarito fights the winner. One or both of these guys will get their second crack, definately.

Cintron at least stepped up against Margarito early in his career.

Cotto at least fought guys that were at his level like Maussa, Pinto, Torres, Malignaggi when he was moving up.

Berto hasnt fought anyone with a pulse. Nor a young fighter that has a chance at challenging him. His next fight against Forbes is crap defense as well. He is fighting a guy that is all defense with no power. :-(

Nope your wrong on both those points, Clottey is actually known for his suspect stanima but it would seem that he has good stanima when he is up against a guy like Zab who has worst stanima than Josh, It's funny how fans severely underrate Cotto now that he has an L on his record.

He was 25 fights into his career. Berto only has 22 fights

Maussa, and Pinto are not much better than Miki Rodirguez or Cosme Rivera. Maussa is actually worse. Malignaggi is extremely overrated. He was a nobody when Cotto fought him. Berto would destroy a guy like that. Torres was also a nobdoy when Cotto fought him. However, he can punch.

Bull****. His last four opponents were all solid guys who have been in there with some good comp.

I have no doubt that this fight was forced on him. Forbes didn't fight Hoya for nothing. He knew he had no chance to beat Hoya. Being that HBO is in the tank for Hoya, this fight is Hoya's reward to Forbes. Forbes is an excellent defensive fighter, who lets his hands go. He'll be another solid test for Berto. He's certainly a better fighter than Malignaggi. Paulie has no power and a suspect defense.

If I was Clottey's team I would push for a rematch with Margarito or a unification with Berto. Williams is a pretty bad matchup for him and Cotto is a fight that he has almost no chance in IMO.

Is say HBO makes another Welterweight triple header....
(Like they did last year with Margarito Vs. Williams)

    Something like....

    Miguel Cotto Vs. Kermit Cintron
    Paul Williams Vs. Joshua Clottey
    Antonio Margarito Vs. Mosley/Mayorga winner

And throw Andre Berto Vs. Carlos Quintana on the Undercard....
    (Non T.V)

I would love to see this card. However, I don't think there's enough money to make it happen.

I agree that would make that fight much more of a draw. But honestly, I don't think Williams should have to work to get another crack at Margarito. I think Clottey should fight Cotto or Cintron for a crack at the Williams-Margarito rematch. Just my opinion.
