Yeah, it wasn't good for his management to do that. He needed a confidence builder, I don't feel he was handled right. But I don't like watching the Clottey fight cause I don't like remembering him like that. Check out Corrales vs JLC 1. Lots of ppl argue that as being one of the best fights in the history.

It had me on my feet screaming. I thought for sure he was done and telling some of my guest that it is all over. I don't care about the spitting of the mouth piece or taking his time. ****, I would have done the samething. Take points, but I am not going out like that. No matter how many times you watch it, it pumps you up. Great fight and one of the great fights of our history. RIP Chico.

Bro, I need to know something. What was Chico's nationality? Was he Mexican, latino, or possibly Cape Verdean.

Nothing too surprising about that. nobody really thought Corrales stood a half decent chance. only surprising thing was that clottey didnt ko him.

    American.

...Mexican mom and Columbian dad, though, which is probably what you wanted to know.

Chico was a shell of his former self that night with Clottey. He had lost his confidence against Corrales, and lost it completely against Casa.

    Sad to watch.

Yea, I know, we are all American. Who sees you as American? I identify myself as Puerto Rican as so many others do. You know what, I am not going to get into this. Yes, that is what I wanted to know. Just curious and if it bothers you, my apologies.

No man, I meant Le. You answered a question about Cung Le and confused it with Chico. My bad though. I was asking Sugargold about his avatar, Cung Le. After looking at some footage on youtube and noticing he fought Frank Shamrock at 150 and you mentioned something about 130. I see where the confusion was. As far as Chico, I was a hardcore fan as soon as he came out (Chico), but did not no his nationality and never heard him speak Spanish. I believe if most knew he was Spanish and could speak Spanish, he would have had a stronger fanbase from Latin countries. Again, my apologies.

You know what, I have yet to see the fight. I heard that he was going to move up to 147 and knew it was a mistake. I did not want to watch it and heard the verdict. I know I can watch it on youtube, but it will bother me to watch it. Someday, I will have the nerve to watch his last fight. It really bothered me a lot like I knew him or something.

Corrales should have never faced Clottey in his first fight at welterweight. Bad move by Shaw. And Clottey may have put an obvious beatdown on Corrales but there are a couple things to remember. Corrales had been in some wars and was probably not the same fighter anymore even a lesser welterweight may have done a number on Corrales that night. Corrales was also moving up two divisions for this fight. He may have been a welter on fight night but he hadn't acclimated himself with facing other welterweights. I think Clottey would have a lot of problems as well if he moved up two divisions and went after one of the top middleweights like Pavlik or Abraham, those two would put a similar beating on Clottey and he hasn't been in the wars that Corrales had been. The win was good for Clottey to get a big name on his resume but in actuality it doesn't mean too much.

Yeah he beat an overweight Corrales, nothing fancy about that. Lets see how it turns out when he fights a true welterweight

Just to clear things up Clottey weighed 170 with his clothes on, fight night against Corrales. Corrales weighed 160, don't know if he had clothes on.

Corrales belonged at 147 a long time ago. Boxing people need to better understand the long term effects starving these fighters have. they cause much damage to a fighters career and zap their legs early.

in jan. 2001 corrales weighed 147 on fightnight for a bout with PBF at super-featherweight(130)
