    HBO will decline the fight because neither of them are old and shot or promoted by GBP.

    both guys are pretty unknown... hopefully the fight is in fort lauderdale so i can see it

    Whoever is running boxing at HBO needs to be fired.

    Dawson is the highly touted young gun and ought to be on HBO.

    Surely they ought to be able to find a better opponent than Tarver - OK he is marketable but a shell of his former self.

    They could force Dawson vs Kessler or even Dawson vs Tavoris Cloud - anything better than a quality young fighter vs old, shot opponent.

    Cintron vs Clottey is a good fight - two guys with styles that will mesh.

    This isn't quite as bad as pairing Berto vs Forbes with Mosley vs Mayorga though :patsch

    Don't really give a **** about HBO but what the hell are Showtime doing rejecting this?

    **** the rematch, give Tarver a few $$$ step aside money. If he learned the fight wasn't going to be on TV it would be worth much less.

    They pretty much had to take this bout, in order to get Dawson's next big fights. It's like how networks were lined up to take Cotto's garbage fight prior to facing Margarito, so they could have the inevitable Cotto-Margo bout.

    Tarver-Dawson is a terrible bout, but in order to get Dawson's next fights, which will be big, someone has to take this garbage.

    That said, Clottey-Cintron would be an AMAZING boxing after dark headliner. It's absolutely crazy to pass on it.

    btw I think Clottey walks him down and knocks him out after a shaky first few rounds. Clottey can take Cintron's punch, that's the deciding factor.
