Clottey Vs Cotto Might Get Very Ugly For Cotto

the fight is on the eve of the PR day parade alot of puerto rican support will be there as well as me.. josh has never fought at the garden and the crowed can overwelm a fighter coming in ..i know one thing is for certain cotto isnt going to loose the night before the PR parade ...to much pride we have .. remember my name bring it up if im wrong

 

Clottey's heavy fighting weight is more of a myth than a fact. The only example I've seen people use is the Corrales fight which was fought at a 150lbs catch weight and Clottey weighned in with his clothes on fight night (I remember him explaining he had his jeans and all...) From what I've seen in other fights he ussually comes in at 157 (about what Cotto also comes in sometimes)

It's true Cotto hasn't fought anyone like Clottey, but I think the creme always rises to the top, and that it should be completely relevant. Clottey I think is the safe pick actually, because if he loses, well... he was fighting Cotto and the dude's a beast. However, Cotto is also the much more vulnerable fighter and in a sport where anything can happen, Clottey seems to fit the bill perfectly (stylisticly) to upset Cotto. Miguel is actually going to have to over come the stylistic advantage Clottey has and prove he really is a special fighter, that's the point Cotto needs to prove in this fight (besides the fact that Margo didn't ruin him).

Cotto can handle Clottey's power no problem. He handled Shane's Power fairly well and he hits way harder then Clottey. And you can argue that Shane is just as a Physical as Clottey. I mean Shane did boss Marg Around easy enough. Cotto by UD

shane bossed margo out of skill not out of muscle.

its very naaive to think cotto can do the same because cotto needs to show his technical skill if he wants to beat clottey.

clottey is a dangerous fighter if you let him - and cotto has a recent history of letting underskilled fighters get the better of him.

cotto's weakness is his defence because, like most serial punchers, he doesnt have to think about it befre its too late.

 

imo cotto's got more ability, speed, power, experience, etc. than anyone clottey has faced. clotteys good, but i just dont see him winning this fight. if anything, this fight is going to test clotteys durability beyond anyone he's fought before. cotto UD.

 

btw the best thing cotto can do is come to the fight with the right game plan to fight someone who shells up and throws in flurries. i dont think that's gonna be a problem.

 

Judah,Mosley,Corley,Torres all gave Cotto trouble right?? And Judah,Torres,Corley all got knocked down and lost by Tko and Mosley had no gas in the tank at the end of the fight Mosley knew this.. Cotto naysayers bring up his chin but ignore how the fights ended,he should get credit for ad******g and keep giving a beating after he was buzzed..

Watch the fight again by the 4th round Mosley is breathing hard while Cotto is cool the whole fight Cotto had the harder punches that wore Shane down.. This fight of course will be different but dont discredit Cotto because he didnt fight perfect fights,its how they ended..

 

Did you watch the fight? everytime they clinched Shane was able to overpower Marg and back him up.that showed Shanes strength. oh and people forget that Clottey has Stanima problems as well when he pushed Corrales and Guterruiz he was clinching alot and his puch output went way down.

 

I expect Clottey to upset Cotto. Cotto is coming off a brutal loss, has changed trainers, is the smaller man (I don't care what the tape says, when they get in the ring you will see) and Clottey is the tougher of the two.

 

I'm not worried about Clottey's power in this one, I'm more worried about his defense, but I think Cotto can still penetrate it and outwork Clottey to a UD.

 

You wouldn't happen to be a Clottey fan would you?????

clottey sits back on the defense to long he will let cotto get off and by the time he goes to fire back cotto is gone. cotto showed against mosely that he can box as well as mix it up and if clottey lets cotto kill the body it will be a long night for clottey. it will be a great fight tho
