I never said Cotto would lose to Clottey. I said Cotto would win. He's just not knocking out Clottey.

Points or KO . . . I'll pick Cotto. Cotto will have a field day giving Clottey the body "bombs" and will soften him up easily.

    Just look at this . . . .

Clottey is always too open at the bottom.

Although Clottey and Margarito is almost the same height . . . Clottey is not as offensive oriented as Margarito. The only way to beat Cotto is to put him at extreme pressure . . . like Margo did. Clottey cannot do that . . . he'll tire up after the middle rounds. STAMINA! :D

I don't know if Cotto would be the same after that bludgeoning. Clottey matched Margos high pace and withstood the pressure along with some great shots. Clottey is a tough and solid grinder in the ring.

If Clottey can take notes from the way Margo beat Cotto and implement them, he could take out Cotto.

but it all depends on how much Margo took out of Cotto. I wouldn't recommend Cotto fight Joshua right away. he should take an easier opponent first.

IMO people picking Clottey over Cotto is making Margarito as a reference in their analysis.

What they fail to see is that Margarito and Cotto, though both are technically pressure fighters, have a very different approach in doing it.
Cotto offers more variety in his offense, more of a boxer than a brawler, and generally quicker both on his feet and hands.

Margarito, on the other hand, is the definition of a come-forward pressure fighter who leans on his size and chin to bully his opponents into discouragement.

Clottey has a good shell-guard defense, and I think is it more effective against someone like Margarito who punches in bunches and who can be countered easily.

Pit versus Cotto, Clottey will be fighting a boxer who can damage you either in the body or in the head. And this time around, Cotto won't be discouraged to unload his power shots. Clottey is not known for his power, you know.

I am picking Cotto to win via UD, since I am also putting some credence on Clottey's chin, therefore discounting a TKO/KO.

Miguel Cotto by late T.K.O. or UD.
Great bounce back fight for Cotto, and a Championship.
(Yes I pick Judah to lose on Sat.)
