Personally I'd pick Clottey to either win via UD or late stoppage. His counter left hook both to the head and body would habitually find the target all night long.
Ortiz is a dumb fighter, doesn't move his head and is easy to hit, open to counters. Size won't be a factor, Clottey is a big welter. There is no way Ortiz is knocking out Clottey. If Pacquiao couldn't get through that shell defence, I can't see Ortiz with his less versatile attack, doing much damage. Clottey counters him all night to a UD or, given Ortiz has a weak mind, he may quit before then.
At their best Clottey is a far better fighter, but it's been so long since we've seen him who the **** knows now?
I like Maidana as much as the next guy, but let's not go calling him the GOAT. Victor did beat the menacing Andre Berto and managed a draw against boxing phenom Lamont Peterson though, so Ortiz might put a Pacquiao on Clottey.
At this point, I'd take Ortiz in a 7-5 type decision. Clottey has better fundamentals, but Ortiz's own skills and talents will have him put forth enough offense over 12 to win on activity. He'll eat some sharp counters and have trouble landing at times, but I believe as he keeps developing he'd be enough to eek out a win over someone with Clottey's style.
Idk , but I do know for sure Clottey could teach Victor a thing or two about putting his hands up. Seriously
Clottey is the master in hands up. He is so good at it that he won't remove his hands in front of his face.
