Comparing the durability and punch resistance of Miguel Cotto to Joshua Clottey is like comparing a tugboat to a battleship. You're foolish or naive if you think Pacquiao can stop Clottey. VERY.

Back to the topic. Seeing Pacman's performance, I woud say Pacquiao but Clottey as sweet science say, he is bigger and more powerful. Well then, lets see about that.

Pacquiao WIDE UD....Clottey has that shell defense, but he seriously needs to work on his offensive game...he is just not active enough.....

I find it funny how they kissed clottey's ass this afternoon, when they said manny also thinks clottey beat cotto...

Clottey has a very good defense, doesn't get hit flush often. It relies on the shell and not movement so that might be a weakenss against Pac. But it's not likely Pac can KO him.

He' got all the fundamental punches down right. Triple, quadruple left hook, straight rights and upper cuts. He's not as fast as Pac but he can take a punch well and his punches do carry some power. Ask Margarito, Baldomir, Cotto or Judah.

All in all I think Pac by close decision because the judges favour him. It won't be an easy fight for Pac.

All the fights he lost were close fights that could have gone either way. The Baldomir loss was a DQ in the 11th of a fight he was winning unanimously. He has never taken a beating or much punishment in any fight. He is as tough as they come, tougher than Cotto. I doubt Top Rank is really serious about putting Pac in there with him. Pac could lose.

 

Clottey is a very dangerous match up for Pac, if they think they can make the Mayweather fight later in the year, I'm surprised they would take such a risk with Clottey.

 

Clottey is also a very good counter puncher. Watch his fight with Margarito.
