The card seems to be coming together nicely.

It makes for a strong card for sure. Not sure it will sell one more ticket in AC but it should make for a stronger HBO card IF they air the fight. Seem like they should though.

It is a hard fight to predict. Quintana on his day can be tricky and he did outbox a prime Paul Williams but Clottey is a strong guy and a decent boxer. If Clottey keeps the intensity high for all 12 rounds he should get a UD.

They should name this fight card "Crossroads" because for different reason these fights are extremely important to each of the major players.

Clotty showed he can hang with the big boys. Williams supporters claim Quintana's claim to fame was a Pdub off night.

Should be a pretty good fight. Clottey is the type of fighter I can see going in and giving any top welter real trouble. I don't really feel the same way about Quintana after being destroyed by Cotto and decapitated by Williams. But the style matchup should make for a even fight since Clottey is not a banger or a guy looking to take you out. Edge to Clottey but I can see Quintana moving well and boxing his way around Clottey.

Clottey is 0-2 against top welters, and Cotto beat him WITH ONE EYE!

Quintana is 1-2 against top welters, and for all we know it might have been the 2nd Williams fight that was a fluke rather than the 1st.

The rematch probably was something of a thing of luck. But the Cotto fight showed he can be chopped down. Not to worry Clottey won't fight that way.

Actually I see Quintana having a pretty big stylistic advantage in this one. I think he's faster, slicker, and smarter. However, Clottey is big, durable, dirty, and experienced. I wouldn't bet any money on Carlos, but I will be rooting for him.

I've been thinking the same thing. Perhaps it was Quintana having an off night in the second fight as opposed to Pdub being off in the first.

Could be actually -- but I hope not. Pavlik needs the PW fight to be a good fight, not a one-sided beating.

One sided beating by Pavlik on Pdub works just fine for me. :yep

with Clotteys big ass metronome dome of a head and Quintana's southpaw stance, expect a NC.
