Thats probably what I'm saying, there was too much onus on the fighter to say "I can't see" or such. Of course that way the system can be engineered to a fighters advantage.

They should take the play away from the fighter and give the doctor/ref the power. A trained doctor can see if a cut is obscuring a fighter badly enough to warrant a stoppage. If its not in a bad place or there is only a small trickle, tough luck...thats the sport.

Yep, fair comment. If the doctor says the fighter is OK and the fighters says he can't see then its a TKO. The way it is now, if the fighter with the cut doesn't fancy it and thinks he's got a decent chance on the cards then he'll 'quit'.

Buncey's thread on boxrec asking for welter title fights is only two pages long.

Also there is a thread from Audley Harrison (or someone claiming to be Audley) calling Haye out :rofl

Yeah, but he got a mention for De La Hoya - Quartey; it should have been for Basilio - DeMarco II, which he quoted and which was the better fight.

Am I the only one who remembers that DLH-Ike was Grade-A balls for about 9 or 10 rounds before the two Kd's. Its no classic at WW.

forgot to buy some when i went to iceland's the other day. :-(

    could murder one right now.

such a stuffy old night ain't it.

thought they would have given us a decent profile undercard fight.

the sport lacks the depth of talent it used to have. :bart

That is exactly how it works, in theory.

I wonder what the question the doctor asked was? The one Calderon shook his head in resopnse to?

I enjoyed the fight very much.
