Cloud calls out everyone including Cleverly

Cloud is the one man in the division I'd keep Cleverly away from right now :yep

 

Those all sound like great fights.

 

I would take that fight if I was cleverly's team

Cloud is a big puncher though (not just a 'bit more' power than Murat who isn't really a puncher) and has a similar work rate to Cleverly. With Clev's defence, he would get knocked out IMO.

 

Cleverly is probably more hittable than either Froch or Ricky Hatton..... and alright he's not looked troubled for quite a while, but there are harder hitters cumulatively or single shot than Murat.

Cloud is probably the hardest hitter in the division, sure both Woods and Johnson took him the full 12 but neither of those two ever look like getting stopped.... Woods looked half dead against Tarver and never looked like going over.

He's pretty limited, but Cleverly's style plays into his hands. Even though Pascal is a better boxer along with Hopkins, Dawson etc, he'd have more chance of beating any of those.

Actually Pascal matches up quite well with Clev, Pascal is great at what he does, lots of energy, unorthodox combos and such, but his stamina isn't brilliant and he can be outboxed as Froch proved.

 

i know there is much hype round the olympians , but imo cleverly is the most likely young fighter to be a bonified world champ.

 

Who has Cleverly shown he can take a punch from?

Brancallion = non puncher
Murat = super middleweight average puncher at best at light heavy
Macintosh = decent power but didn't land a punch all night (fair play to clev)
Oakey = non puncher
succession of afro bums = non punchers
Joey Vegas = on his backside.

Also, hasn't Tobias Webb had him on his pants in sparring??

Clev has been kept away from punchers in my opinion. When he went back to the corner in the first round against Murat, the first thing his dad asked him was 'how's his power' - clearly they had some concerns otherwise why ask?

He is exciting to watch and he is improving all the time. But when was the last time you saw him outbox someone off the jab? He doesn't. He stands there, he trades and he's been winning. But he's been doing it against guys who don't punch with real power. I think he can take a decent shot but let's see him do that against Breahmer or Cloud or someone of that ilk who can really punch.

 

Is this some sort of myth that has gotten out of hand? Because I see a lot of people (inc. Bellew!) saying this

Vegas never scored a knockdown in that fight.

 

Didn't Clev admit it in the recent press conference spat?

Having said that, Cleverly does get stunned and I thought it was a very close fight.

 

If he made it a war with Cloud he would get sparked. That's exactly what cloud would want to happen as clev has the bigger reach.

I honestly think he can outbox cloud, but a war with him is suicide. The comparison to Murat is silly, he is a puncher at SMW and hasn't shown power at LHW
